School started out as a pretty normal day. The same uneventful boring classes and the usual stupid, stinky kids taking up space. I usually enjoyed the learning, especially English class- but our teacher, Mr. McCarey, is one of those old men that are quite possibly always staring at teenage girls, so that makes me like English class a little less. I do have a huge "fan theory" he is having an affair with our science teacher, Mr. Meer, but that's a whole other story.

I usually do not mind school in general, but I strongly dislike waking up that early. It does not make much sense why I have to come into school that tired and then have my teachers expect me to be able to take tests and quality notes. It's not like I even go to bed that late, most nights anyway. But, I do know that plenty of people in my grade stay up very late watching TV, gaming or even sneaking out. If I ever sunk out and my dad found out, I would be six feet under in my tiny backyard.

Tansy often sneaks out to be with the football and cheer teams at parties. Since her parents are divorced and she is an only child, she has a lot of freedom. Her parents work a lot also and are hardly home when Tansy is home. Tansy does not have any step parents, though both of her parents date often. It can get a little wild in her houses.

They almost never notice she is gone and if they do, they assume that she is over at Gwen or my house. And sometimes she is, but usually not. I love Tansy, but sometimes she really acts like she is someone she is not, and it hurts to see someone who I grew up with, be so different.

Lunch time is probably one of my favorite parts of being at school because it is basically a whole gossip period with Gwen and Tansy. Sometimes Tansy ditches us to get all of the popular girl/cheerleading/football/sporty people gossip. Gwen and I are usually okay with it. It can be very hard being friends with someone as popular as Tansy sometimes because she is friends with all the relevant people. It helps her have the best gossip to share though, so we are not gonna complain too much.

As I may have mentioned before, Tansy's God awful boyfriend Chad is getting worse and worse by the day. Gwen and I keep telling her to break up with him, and she did joke one time about when I get it with Dane again then she will consider it, so...? Anyway, she really deserves better. I think she is just not ready to see Chad with someone else, but Chad deserves worse.

Pulling up to the Cafeteria and sitting at our usual lunch table, just was hitting different today. I was not sure why, but it was probably because I packed myself a cucumber salad and I have not had those flavors grace my taste buds in far too long.

Gwen was already there, sketching some design in her sketchbook. We started talking about the latest episode in our favorite reality TV show "Crazy in Love Yesterday". It is really hot trash but we love it for some reason. When Tansy finally gets here, she immediately starts ranting about the newest rumor someone started about Chad and Stacey. Tansy hates the rumors but she always said they never bother her, she just does not like to hear about them, but we all know she hates them.

Mid gossip, the disgusting, unwelcome being sauntered over to our little lunch table. Tansy rolls her eyes so far up into her head when she notices him, I thought they might get stuck. Gwen looks him up and down and then glances over to me, with a mega look of disgust. I am starting to wonder if anyone actually likes Chad, and why anyone could ever like him.

"Hey Babe," Chad says in a needy tone, "So I heard there is a rumor going around about me and Stacey, and I just wanted to let ya know that that isn't true-but you should know that."

He gave her a mash up puppy dog eyes type of thing, and she looked over at me with a look that screamed "HELP". I was not sure if there was anything I could do so I looked back at her with a thoughtful glance.

"Ya know what Chad," Tansy said, very annoyed, "I am kinda fed up with your bullshit, like how do I know that you are telling the truth! You have lied to me before!" At this point, people were really starting to stare over at our table. They were causing quite the scene.

"Tansy, I swear, bruh, I didn't do nothing to Stacey" Chad said. Why would you ever call your girlfriend "bruh" and think that it's ok to do that? If I was dating someone and we were trying to have a "serious" conversation, it would be a bright red flag if that is what they called me.

"I really am not sure if I believe that, Chad," Tansy snapped back. You know, this could be a good time to break up with Chad, Stacey is much better for him. They are both shallow and self centered, and I am sure they have more similarities that I do not know about.

They went on arguing until Tansy spat in his face, "Fuck off, Chad," and slapped him in the face. The whole cafeteria went silent, like dead silent. At first Chad looked scared, but I think he was really just shocked that Tansy would do that to him, and let me just say so was I. Tansy could get in real trouble for that, but it's not like she did not have a good reason for it.

For a split second, it seemed as if Chad was going to hit her back. As he raised his unfortunately muscular arm, and as Tansy prepared to have an ugly bruise in the morning, someone came over. This mystery man swung and hit Chad straight in the face. I could not believe that someone would defend Tansy like that. I mean, she is captain of the cheer squad and a very likable person, but this mystery guy could get suspended. When he turned around to face me, I realized why he did it.
