TW: 'Attempted' Rape, Drugs, Alcohol, Violence

(Back to Leo's POV)

My breath hitches when I open the door. How can a boy be this perfect? Jay's got his hair styled down, his bangs covering some of his forehead, which actually suits him nicely. His crisp new jacket contrasts his tan skin gorgeously, and his dimples peek out, completing his striking look.

I feel my cheeks getting warmer, so I smile and invite him in, surprised to see his sister following him.

"Take a picture. It'll last longer," she says, smirking at me, noticing my awed stare at Jay. "Now where's the alcohol?"

I roll my eyes, leading them to the secret stash in our kitchen. Thank goodness my parents went out on a date night, otherwise 'alcohol' would not be a word they would tolerate at this party. Spam materializes next to me, helping me set out some cups for the drinks.

"Hiii Leooo," she says guiltily, drawing my attention to her.

"Oh, lord, Spam, what did you do?" I say, pausing to hear her answer.

"Uh, so ya know how you said I can invite some of my friends to the party to make it more of a party?"

"Mhmmm," I say, narrowing my eyes at her.

"I have a lot more friends than I thought. Sooooo there'll be about 40peoplehereinanhour." She says, hurriedly smooshing her words together to make it seem less insane.

"WHAT?!?" Is the last word I shout before everyone scatters and starts preparing for a whole lot more guests than expected.

"My parents are gonna kill me." I say, gloomily staring at all the mostly drunk high school kids in front of me. The smell of vapes and weed fills the air around me, causing my nose to crinkle in disgust. Jay nods in agreement next to me, sighing.

Out of nowhere, Spam pops up, causing Jay to jump slightly.

"Don't scare me like that," he says, after swearing under his breath.

"Leo," Spam says, staring at me with bright eyes. "I have a plan to get rid of at least half of these guests."

I look at her, confused. "Aren't these your friends? And didn't YOU invite them?"

"Ah, I could stand to lose a few of them, and besides, I never knew I invited this many. I can tell you feel uncomfortable with the amount of them. So, I formed a plan. Catch ya later!" Spam says, skipping off into the crowd. She's a good friend, I think.

I decide to head to my kitchen to make sure no damage has been done there yet, worrying too much about all the guests, causing me to forget about Jay and accidentally leave him behind.

So far, no serious damage has been done. One water glass is broken, and I'm about to bend down to clean it up when a guy I've never seen before tries to talk to me.

"Hey, what's your name?" He says, grinning. I'm taken aback by his sudden approach and smile nervously, saying, "Leo."

Weirdo. Why would he want to know my name? I'm not popular and definitely not his kind of future friend, I assume. He looks like he'd be friends with the football jocks, not some skinny quiet kid.

"Nice, see you around, Leo," He says, emphasizing my name and winking before walking off.

Ummmm okkkk...

I go back to minding my own business, and finish throwing away the broken glass, thankfully not cutting myself on it. I push myself through the crowd again, attempting to get to my room and make sure the door is locked. Before I can, a drink is shoved in my hand and I look around to see who gave it to me, but find no one. I shrug and carry on, finally making it upstairs where there's significantly less people. I sigh in relief, making my way into one of the guest bedrooms in my house.
