The following day at Debbie's hostel Jerry was searching for the research book on her shelf "Debbie, where's your research handout. I need to copy something from it?" asked Jerry impatiently
"Checked the drawer." replied Debbie nonchalantly
"Have checked it. I can't find it." said Jerry frankly
"Check it again." replied Debbie
"I can't find it, Debbie." replied Jerry sweat on face
"Are you sure?" asked Debbie eyes narrowed at him and she sat up from her bed instantly
"Yes." replied Jerry, fanning himself with hand
"Who did I borrowed my handout?" asked Debbie frowned
"Are you asking me?" asked Jerry chuckled
"Go away jor, are you not the one asking for the handout now. I think you don't need it again." replied Debbie, pretending to sleep back again
"Common get up!" said Jerry instantly
"You don't need it now!" replied Debbie adamantly
"I need it please!' said Jerry pleading, Debbie got up from the bed and she searched her drawer for some minutes before she later recollected she had borrowed Kate the handout yesterday in the lecture room
"Ooh I just remember now!" shouted Debbie suddenly
"What's that?" asked Jerry
"I borrowed the new student in our department." replied Debbie softly
"A new student?" asked Jerry surprised
"Yes!" replied Debbie
"And you didn't tell me." said Jerry amazed
"I think you saw her yesterday, she sat down beside me." replied Debbie softly
"I didn't noticed her." said Jerry admittedly
"Okay, you will see her today, because she promised to return it today!" said Debbie assuring him
"She will?" asked Jerry amazed
"Yes I believe her!" replied Debbie affirmatively
"Uhmn! When did you start believing stranger apart from me?" asked Jerry enviously
"I do now, since she promised to return the book today. And moreover I like giving people benefits of doubt." replied Debbie chuckled
"Alright. Is she pretty?" asked Jerry jokingly
"Duh!" Debbie was taken back with Jerry's inquiring. And Debbie frowned her face at Jerry apparently
"I'm just joking, no one is prettier than my best friend!" grinned Jerry and hold her hands in a playful manner
"Uhmn and no one is smarter than you." said Debbie teasingly
"Uhmn I know!" replied Jerry grinning
"Duh are you smart?" asked Debbie chuckled
"Yes, you just said it and I believe you!" replied Jerry smiled and looked at her admirably "Anything my best friend said I believe and you?" asked Jerry cheerfully
"Same here. I believe you too!" replied Debbie innocently "I'm hungry Jerry!" said Debbie suddenly
"Let's go and eat then." replied Jerry
"Okay, carry me up please." said Debbie, she had resumed back on her bed, while Jerry was already standing at the entrance door
"Your hands up." replied Jerry, he extended his hand out but Debbie refused to extended her hands out. "Stop being a baby, common get up." said Jerry playfully
"Am I not a baby?" asked Debbie chuckled.
"You're a baby of course and am still lecturing you." replied Jerry teasingly
"Duh! Are you a lecturer?" asked Debbie jokingly and she extended her hands out finally
"Good girl let's go!" said Jerry laughing and they both went to the cafeteria.
At the college cafeteria, Jerry and Debbie were eating the same portion of food. Adam entered inside at the moment
"The two cat and rat!" said Adam suddenly from the door
"Adam!!!" Debbie and Jerry screamed joyfully. They were excited to see Adam back to school again
"Hi Debbie and Jerry!" replied Adam cheerfully and he hugged them.
"You don't want to resume back huh?" asked Debbie grinning
"Of course I will!" replied Adam chuckled
"When did you entered the campus?" asked Jerry brightly
"Some minutes ago!" replied Adam
"Look at my buddy. He's looking fresh and handsome!" said Jerry happily
"Duh I'm blushing!" replied Adam smiling and he noticed Debbie was sneering at him and said "Someone's jealous here!" added Adam jokingly
"Duh!" replied Debbie chuckled
"I caught you though! How're you doing Jerry and Debbie?" asked Adam cheerfully
"We're fine!" replied both Jerry and Debbie in unison
"That's good and I missed you guys!" said Adam admittedly
"We missed you too!" replied Debbie tenderly
"You Debbie miss me?" asked Adam teasingly
"Yes of course!" replied Debbie frankly
"You that have Jerry with you always. You can never missed me duh!" said Adam jealously
"Oh I got you Adam. You're jealous of me right!" said Jerry chuckled
"No man!" replied Adam grinned
"I missed you Adam sincerely!" replied Debbie softly
"Aww... I'm blushing!" said Adam softened
"Yeah! Before I forget what did you bring for me." asked Debbie brightly
"Trust me Debbie. I can't forget something like that!" replied Jerry grinning.
"I trust you buddy, where's your bag?" asked Debbie, looking over at his side
"It's in the hostel!" replied Adam
"Okay, aren't you gonna eat with us?" asked Debbie already done with her food
"I am full dear!" replied Adam cheerfully
"Okay," replied Debbie
"Let's start going guys!" said Jerry, he took the can coke along with him. They all stood up and went for their lectures.
Inside the lecture room, the lecturer was not inside the class yet.
"Why's Mr Paul not yet inside. This is almost thirty minutes now?" said Jerry
"Are you sure he's coming to lecture us today?" asked Adam
"I don't know yet but I think he should be here any movement from now!" replied Jerry
Mr Paul entered inside the lecture room suddenly and everyone quickly sat down quietly.
"Mr Paul is here!" shouted Adam, he turned to Jerry and said "look over there." said Adam cheerfully
"I told you he will come!" replied Jerry smiled
Mr Paul cleared his throat and addressed the students
"I'm sorry class, I had a meeting with the other lectures." said Mr Paul politely
"Alright sir!" shouted the students cheerfully.
Mr Paul was one of the students favorite, everyone loved him because of his meekness and generosity. Most students admired him in the college, he was one of the best lectures in the college and also good to all students.
"Thanks for understanding class! Let's continue on our last topic." said Mr Paul, he turned to the board and started writing.
Kate quickly rushed inside and started walking over to where Debbie and her friends were sitting down.
"That's her Jerry!" said Debbie, she pointed to Jerry instantly and Jerry looked over at the girl approaching to their seats
"Wow! She's pretty!" exclaimed Jerry inwardly, he was attracted to Kate's beauty all of a sudden
"Hi!" said Kate, she was smiling at Debbie and didn't know Jerry was looking at her intently said "Sorry I came late again. Can I sit with you please?" asked Kate politely
"Yeah you can join us." replied Debbie cheerfully, she like the way Kate spoke to her tenderly
"Thank you!" said Kate softly. She sat next to Adam and wanted to look over to the person sitting beside her. Adam and Kate eyes locked together and Kate smiled at him gently. Adam smiled back at her shyly.
He thought to himself inwardly and said "Who's this pretty girl. Did she just smiled at me?" Adam was flabbergasted for some second and put his attention back on what Mr Paul was teaching them.
After two hours, the lecture ended. Debbie and her friends were outside about leaving for their hostels
"Hey Kate, meet my friends Jerry and Adam!" said Debbie excitedly
"Nice meeting you guys!" said Kate softly
They shaked hands together firmly
"Nice meeting you miss!" replied Jerry and Adam in unison
"It's my pleasure," replied Kate gently and turned to Debbie and said "This is your handout Debbie. Thanks for the book!" replied Kate politely
"You're welcome dear." said Debbie cheerfully
"I will start going now bye!" said Kate, she turned to leave
"Wait!" shouted Debbie, "Can I have your number please. I might want to visit your hostel anytime!" said Debbie gently.
Debbie had already been charmed by Kate personality. She liked Kate and wanted to be friends with her.
"Okay but I haven't gotten any hostel for now. I was told I resumed late and everywhere is full. So I only comes from home now." replied Kate gently
"Really, but am the only one in my room. I don't have roommate!" said Debbie concerned
"Whoa! Okay. I'll try and get to the bursary and tell them, what you just told me now." replied Kate
"Okay I can't wait to be your roommate!" said Debbie brightly "Can I have your contact Kate?" asked Debbie cheerfully
"Alright Debbie, your phone please?" asked Kate and she collected Debbie's phone and dialed her number on it "Here's it, goodbye Debbie!" Kate handed the phone back to Debbie and left their presence immediately
"Thanks dear goodbye!" replied Debbie smiling face and turned to her friends, Jerry and Adam.
