The Last Hope (Attack on Titan x Male Reader)

Chapter One

Third Person POV:

During the year 850, an unidentified massive titan attacked the walls effectively destroying the safety that humanity had once enjoyed. When that fateful kick smashed through the walls the area inside wall Maria was lost to the titan hordes. Many people lost their lives and many more sought refuge behind Wall Rose.

During this time with rising food shortages, the royal government decided on a plan to recapture the wall or so they called it. It forced many of the refugees to leave the safe areas and attempt to recapture the lost lands. This was just a shrewd attempt at avoiding mass starvation and even though it worked many people lost their loved ones.

One of these people who had witnessed this desperate attempt at controlling the situation was a young man named Thaddeus Reiss. But due to his accident, he longer remembered who he was which brings us to our present time.

Thaddeus POV:

As I was waiting in the food line waiting for my small share of food I thought to myself trying to remember who I was but like always I can't. It feels like something or someone is stopping my memories from flowing.

My thoughts are interrupted when I see a scene in front of me of a boy around my age kick a guard in the leg.

Garrison Guard: Oi damn brat

The guard then proceeds to punch the kid and the other one backs him up by tripping the kid and putting him on the floor.

Young Boy: You have no idea! You've never seen it! You've never seen the way they eat people!

The Garrison soldier is stopped before he is able to respond by what I presume to be his friend he goes on to apologize to the guards and promises that they won't cause trouble again. When they leave you notice bread on the ground that they dropped.

TIMESKIP: Eren POV

After the incident with the guards Mikasa, Armin and I are in our temporary home with both of them talking while I try to get some sleep. I know I overreacted earlier but I meant what I said I won't live like cattle waiting for the Titans to kill me I'd rather die. My thoughts are interrupted by a knock on our door and a boy around our age comes in.

???: Excuse me sorry to interrupt but you happened to drop this piece of bread from before and thought it best to return it or so I think I can't really remember what's right or wrong....

As the boy continues to go on I notice the piece of bread on the floor and remember that we did lose it when with us just assuming someone had stolen it. I then ask him a question.

Change of POV: Thaddeus's POV

As I continue on with my point not really knowing if this was the right thing to do or not I am interrupted by the same boy from before who fought the guards.
