i simply wanted to write to you as a form of my thanks. consider it as a graduation gift from me. i give you my thanks for being not only apart of my potions class (both at ordinary wizard level and advanced wizard level) but also being a great asset to slytherin. you are a very intelligent witch with potential far beyond what i have seen, i know for a fact that your efforts will not go to waste and the determination that you have presented will go far in your trajectory.

i have attached your original copies of some of your highly marked assignments from my potions class and transfigurations class. your former transfiguration professor was pleased to know that your assignment just about surpassed mine. after having a look at your assignment for my potions classes, i was slightly taken aback at how your grades almost matched my assignments, i also attach a copy of my own assignment from my youth.

that is the purpose of my letter, i figured you like your assignments returned as it is. again, thank you for playing a huge role to hogwarts and to the slytherin house.

thank you for writing to me. i sincerely appreciate this letter you have written for me and i will no doubt cherish it for a very long time. it really means a lot to me that my work hasn't gone unnoticed by a professor like you.

i finished having a look through the assignments and i'm surprised that they matched yours. i think it's because i simply learned from the best, no doubt they helped me pass with flying colours. perhaps if you wouldn't mind, we could meet and catch up. there's nothing holding us back anymore, plus a friendly reunion wouldn't be that bad?

it was quite a shock seeing you almost match up to me previous grades, back when i was a hogwarts student. but you did it somehow. i don't know how you did it, however i am extremely proud of you for achieving some of the best results in hogwarts. i understand that your final year here was immensely difficult but overcoming what you'd gone through is an achievement within itself and you should be happy with the outcome you have.

with that being said, i cannot guarantee a full on reunion with your year group but i wouldn't be against it. i would be more than happy to meet you at viperous espresso, it's a coffee shop that recently opened. i would be happy for you to join me there tonight. we have a lot of catching up to do.

your gap year was slowly coming to a close, you had several rejections from jobs, perhaps they didn't like your personality, or it was the fact that nobody would risk taking on an ex-student, fresh out of school.

so upon reading severus' request to invite you to the coffee shop, you were beaming with joy. you didn't know what it was that drew you to the dark and foreboding potions master, you were known to have...an acquired taste to say the least.

you grabbed a hold of your jumper and wore it along with a nearby jacket that was hung up on your bedroom door, you instantly wrapped your scarf and put on your gloves and brushed off any lint that hung onto the clothes. knowing that you would be meeting with your former professor was quite daunting. no doubt that you were falling back to that shy first year who was scared of him, but the past was in the past.
