Ethan's POV.
Nothing had changed at all. That was what I noticed the moment I step into my room.
The bed was still well made and covered with neat white sheets. I have no doubt that nanny Iren comes in here everyday to clean up.
My basket ball was right where I had left it glued to the wall beside my bed. My computer was still on the computer table untouched.
Everything was just as it was the day I left. The typical teenage boy's room.
I walked in deeper and closed the door gently behind me. I set my luggage down and moved towards my bedside drawer where a night lamp, an alarm clock and a photograph frame sat.
I picked up the photo frame with a smile on my face. Gia, Holden and I were laughing at the camera. My arms were around Gianna's neck. She was fourteen then and Holden and I were sixteen.
I couldn't help the smile that graze my face. We were all happy then. We were all so close. It was the time when Holden didn't care that I was adopted when he still sees me as a brother and not those painful times when we were blindly fighting for his father's company.
I set the photo frame down on the table, the bad memories coming back in torrents and I didn't want to think about it.
As I took a bath and got dressed into a simple shirt and sweatpants, my mind couldn't help but wonder what had been going on. Why was Holden in jail?
No matter how hard I tried to figure out the reason, nothing seem to fit. I really need to talk to Gia and get some information from her.
A dull ache in my chest had my shoulders slumping down in sadness. Gia doesn't even want to talk to me. I can't even remember a time where she was this angry at me. We had always been so close, but I do understand her anger. I never contacted them even after years of being away.
I went downstairs and smiled at the scent of home cooked food. God I miss Nanny Iren's cooking.
The dinning table was right in the kitchen and nanny Iren was already there setting the table with delicious looking dishes.
"This looks good" I commended as I pulled out a chair and sat down.
nanny Iren gave me a small smile "help yourself Ethan, you've been away for too long"
I thanked her and look around at the empty chairs. There was a time where the dinning table use to be filled with laughter and happiness. Now there's nothing but gloomy silence.
"Is Gianna really not coming down for dinner?"
Nanny Iren sighed tiredly "you know that young lady more than I do Ethan. Once her mind is made up, she's determine to keep it that way"
I stood up with a sigh. I won't let her sleep on an empty stomach just because she's trying to avoid me "I'll go get her"
I walked up the stairs heading towards the familiar path to her room.
Her room was at the other end of the aisle. I knocked but there was no response.
"Gia" she still didn't answer.
I twisted the door knob and sighed in relief when I saw that it was open. I pop my head in "Gia?"
She was seated on her bed on her phone with her legs crossed Indian style. She didn't even acknowledge me when she spoke angrily "what do you want?"
"I know you want nothing to do with me right now Gia, but please don't starve yourself because of me"
"Its not because of you. Don't give yourself too much credit. I'm just not hungry"
