Línghún - Union or destruction...? (prologue)

Hello my dear fellow WenZhou/YiZhan/ ZhanYi shippers..... 

This is my first fanfic.

I will start with this hopefully after mid August ....As I'm currently busy with my other bl novel. Just couldn't resist writing this, so uploading the actual cover page. The original image is not mine,it's from google, but the cover, was designed by me.... I aim to update regularly, at least twice a week. ( Do scroll below the image to read some general info about Linghun and the long version of the description,which is the prologue )

For your information, this ff is set in an au called Linghun. It has three parts,

Jameen - earth - where humans - led by the righteous clans- live

Jannat - heaven - where immortals, spirits and gods- led by the god of justice Yi Ren- live

Jahannum - hell - where evil spirits,snake lords and furies- led by snake lord She Wang, and his sister She Nu- live

The immortals and gods were born and derive their energy from the pearl of life, the shenghuo pearl. All the evil spirits reside around the Tengtong pearl,pearl of destruction. The Shenghuo harbors Yang Qi (positive energy) and Tengtong is the reservoir of Yin Qi( negative energy). Both the pearls balance each other, and anyone who possesses both will become invincible. The pearls are prophesied to manifest their full glory themselves every five hundred years. The powers of the pearls,which in turn power the immortals and the evil lords, are connected to the phases of the moon.

When the moon waxes, the Tengtong weakens and Shenghuo strengthens. When it wanes, the opposite happens. As a result, the gods and immortals are weak when the Amavasi ( new moon ) nears. The evil spirits and snake lords grow powerless around the pournami ( full moon). Humans worship most of the gods in their respective temples.

More facts will be added as the story begins.....As I said, it's my first ever fanfic, and corrections and constructive criticism are always welcome and much appreciated....

PROLOGUE

These were the same words that were scribbled on the walls of the immortal prison of Jannat.

These were the same words that were echoing in Shenxian's mind, when he knelt in the heavenly courtroom, before the supreme lord's throne, Takt. He had broken rules.... The divine whip of justice, Chengfa was hovering in the air, always ready to punish.....

" Ai Shenxian, the male god of fertility, has been found to be involved romantically with a human. And as per the rules of Linghun, both he and the human shall be punished with fifty lashes of Chengfa...." The ever impassive and all-knowing Zhen Zhu read the sentence with a shockingly trembling voice.

Shenxian braced himself for the punishment, but, there was something he couldn't accept. The supreme god, the god of Justice Yi Ren asked him" Do you acknowledge your crimes?"

" Yes, lord Yi, it is true that I fell for a human, but, I don't regret any of it..... But, Xin.... Xin Zhiwang is innocent.. He did not know that I was a god. Please do not punish him... I will take his punishment in his stead, even if it destroys me...." Shenxian sounded calm and sure.

Gasps of horror were heard in the hall.... The Chengfa was not something to be taken lightly.. A couple of lashes of Chengfa could kill a human, and after fifty lashes, even an immortal would lose his/her powers due to draining of spiritual energy, and would have to meditate for years to regain their powers.... And Shenxian was about to take a hundred lashes on himself. He would lose all of his spiritual energy and his human form, and would have to return to the vicinity of the Shenghuo to meditate as a formless spirit, for at least a hundred years, to return to his immortal form. But, everything was worth it when you are in love....

And so, Chengfa started its work. After the twenty third whiplash, Shenxian spat blood. Still, he was silent and his eyes were serene. At the thirty first whiplash, he felt himself grow weaker, and the ball of energy attached to his Solar plexus chakra, that used to lightly pulsate , was now growing unstable and was throbbing wildly. Definitely not a good sign. He felt worried and helpless. Automatically, he clutched his navel and looked at Zhen Zhu with pleading eyes. Zhen Zhu could read minds, and what Shenxian wanted to say shocked him.

" Lord Zhen.... Please...save..our....child...." That means Shenxian was..........! Before Zhen Zhu could do anything, a commotion was heard from the gates of the heavenly court... The guards were trying to stop a young man from bursting into the hall...

" Let go... Xian ge.... I told you that we'll face this together.... Let me go inside... Even I am to be blamed and I should share his punishment..."

Shenxian turned his head to look at him and whispered with a pained smile " Xin..... why...do ....you...have...to ....be stubborn.... Now?"
