After spending hours deciding what to do for our part in the summer festival, we had come to the conclusion as a class to do a mix of Kyoka's, Todoroki's and Mina's idea. We were planning a big dance party, with Kyoka in charge of music, Todoroki in charge of special effects and Mina in charge of the dancing. Kyoka was recruiting band members based on past music experience and since I had none I left her to it. Iida was helping separate the rest of the class into either dancers or special effects depending on their quirks and abilities, and more than anything I wanted to be on the dance team.

I'd had feelings for Mina pretty much since UA began - she was fun, playful, pretty and so easy to get on with. She perhaps wasn't the most intelligent academically but she was amazing sociably, and was clearly determined on being a hero given the fact she could use her quirk so well to the point where she was in the finals of the sports festival.

It was since the sports festival that I actually realised my feelings, as prior to that I simply found myself staring at her without realising. Now I was determined to get her to notice me in any way I could, and this was a golden opportunity that I refused to let up.

"We're running low on people for the special effects team... (l/n)! Would you be able to-," Iida started but I interrupted him suddenly.

"No!" I exclaimed, everyone's attention turning to me. "I-I mean... I don't think my quirk would really suit special effects, do you?"

"Hm... perhaps you're right," Iida tapped his chin.

"Her quirk would be perfect for the dance group! She can move around so well, jump around and given how cute her quirk is we can't afford for it to be hidden!" Mina bounced over to me happily, ruffling my head and catching my cat ears making me purr embarrassingly. Just like always when around her I found my cheeks heating up, but this time it felt more intense given the words she spoke.

"Yes perhaps you're right... what about you Koda?" Iida turned his attention to the quiet boy making me sigh in relief.

"You alright?" Mina asked, standing close to me.

"Yeah, yeah I'm fine," I tried to avoid looking in her unusual black and yellow eyes which always captivated me.

"Well I'm glad I've got you as part of the dance team! We're gonna have so much fun!" She jumped up and down with her arms in the air. I couldn't help but smile at the sight, and after another hour of planning we had finally managed to organise the outline of our show. Kyoka had formed her band, Todoroki had gathered his special effects workers whilst everyone else ended up in the dance group. That meant that the majority of the class were in Mina's dance group, and I was admittedly slightly worried that it meant I wouldn't be able to spend as much alone time with her as I hoped.

"Midoriya! Keep those knees up!" Mina shouted out, us all practicing the routine she'd created out in the garden in front of our dorm building. "C'mon guys, remain loose, there's no need to look so stiff!"

We'd been practising the routine for a week now, us only being able to do so when Kyoka had written and performed the first draft of the song so we knew the pace and beat. The routine Mina had created was tough, so there were plenty in the group having difficulty. Unfortunately for me, I was not one of them.

I was torn between performing my hardest to impress Mina with my skills and pretending to be rubbish to have her then personally tutor me. I ended up choosing the former but I regretted it as she spent ages working with Midoriya and Iida who weren't getting it at all.
