Brittany's POV:

I didn't realise that Santana may have been right about Malissa having a crush on me. Everything seemed to make sense when I noticed just how much she asked to hang out. Alone. I would try and invite Santana or Quinn whenever she wanted to go shopping but the suggestion seemed to irritate her.

"But Malissa it would be more fun with more of us going to see this movie" I told Malissa who had already called me 4 times today to arrange what movie we were going to see.

"We haven't hung out, just us in ages Brittany! I miss you and I have something to tell you" She told me but I stopped listening because Santana's contact popped up on my phone.

"Okay fine see you at 8pm" I told her and hung up.

"Hey San" I said as soon as I ended the call to Malissa and answered Santana's call.

"Hey brit, wanna do something tonight?" She asked shyly and my immediate response wanted to be yes but, what about Melissa?

"I would love to but I have plans with Mal"

"oh.." she sounded so sad that I couldn't help what came out my mouth next.

"You can come with us though, I'm sure she won't mind" Although I knew she would mind.

"Okay! see you later then" and with that, she hung up.

I lounged around for a while before I had to start getting ready, I had a shower and brushed my teeth again before I left to go pick Santana up. As usual I was greeted by her brother, who was always excited to see me. Her mom was actually home this evening and made me try her cooking for the first time. It was alright, no my specified taste but of course I told her it was delicious.

When we eventually got to the cinema Malissa was happy to see me but when she laid eyes on Santana her whole mood changed and she was no longer smiling. I felt bad but I also couldn't let San down, and I did want to see her tonight as well, I see it was a win win, and at least Santana and I would have fun.

The family munching behind us was infuriation but I didn't have the confidence to tell them to stop being so loud. Although I didn't have the confidence that didn't stop the Latina next to me from turning around and threatening the dad to shut up or she'll "shove that refresher where nobody goes"

"Classy girl" Malissa whispered to me which made me smirk a little bit but I quickly returned a neutral expression when I felt Santana looking at me, I side eyed her slightly and noticed she had a sad expression on her face. She heard.

I thought about apologising for finding it funny but I didn't know how to excuse that, she trusted me not to judge her, especially in front of my pretentious friend and I let her down. I didn't pay attention much to the movie after that, I can't tell you how it ended or why Malissa was saddened by the whole movie. What was it called again? Did someone die?

"That was so good" I commented to cut through the awkward silence, it didn't help much as Santana just scoffed at my words anyway.

"What's your problem? first you embarrass us in there and then you're rude to Brit? Brit why do you even hang out with her?" Malissa made a disgusted face and before I had a chance to tell her to back off Santana stood in front of me and squared up to her.

"Maybe you should just mind your business before I go all Lima Heights on your ass" I winced at her words. Oh no.

"Lima Heights? Brittany please tell me this is a joke" She looked at me and my face gave it all away "Wait until I tell your father"

While Malissa walked away I looked to Santana who's face has dropped, I took a deep breath but didn't say anything but motioned for her to follow me to the car so that I could drop her home. The car ride back was quiet and uneventful, the only words exchanged were when we were outside her house.

"I'm sorry, I was just upset because you made fun of me while we were in there"

"I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have laughed, I guess it's just because I wasn't brought up like that, I didn't have the confidence to tell them to be quiet like you did"

"I suppose I should've said it better, I just have rage" she shook her head at herself "Is this it?" she asked.

"I don't know" I shrugged, my father thought reputation was everything and I'm not sure how finding out where Santana's from will go, he will probably make me stop seeing her "I'll let you know"

Instead of verbally responding to me she bit her lip and then latched onto mine. The feeling of her lips on mine was exciting and heart fluttering. It ended just as fast as it started and she quickly jumped out the car, muttering a goodbye.

I caught Denice smirking at me through the window and my cheeks flushed red "I told you" he said, as the window rolled back up.

Santana did like me.
