I enjoyed making my own personal character, but it just didn't work out. There's a lot of problems, mostly caused by myself, and some coming on me unexpectedly, like the random splotches of blue. I have a covering behind the drawing so that when I use the markers, it doesn't bleed onto the page behind it, but there was writing and images on that covering that was done in marker that bled through the paper when pressure was applied. It hasn't ever happened to me before, so I was very confused. Originally, that dripping heart wasn't supposed to be there, but there was a drawing of a heart on the cover that bled through, so I made it look purposeful.
When I plan to colour my own original character, I usually draw a mini sketch of it that looks mostly similar and use that to test colours. This was moreso what the main one should've looked like, minus a few mistakes like the overtilt of the wall and the arm extending slightly out of position. Honestly, I like the colouring and position of the sketch more.
Self-criticism, am I right?
