"This world is such a struggle just to be, fuck 'em all, baby, it's just you and me."
"You wanna hang out with me today Omi?" Y/N asked the older man as she zipped up her jacket.
"Sure," Takeomi told the girl simply on the other end of the line. "Where're we going?"
"The mall, we're going shopping!"
"How come you don't want me buying me anything for you sunflower?" Takeomi asked the brown girl as the two of them exited another store, a single shopping bag held in her hand.
Y/N hummer as she looked at the older man, "I dunno, I just don't wanna have you buying me stuff when I invited you." she explained to the male.
"Well you're having me feel real bad every time you swipe that card, at least lemme get you something." the older man mumbled as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Uh uh, if you're gonna buy anything, get something for yourself!
"You need a hand with those sunflower?" Takeomi asked the girl as he laughed a little under his breath.
The amount of shopping bags
the girl had accumulated greatly. The brown girl handed Takeomi the majority of her bags happily. The weight knocked the wind out him nearly immediately.
Damn! Why'd you have to buy so much stuff?" he asked in a surprised tone. She shrugged, turning away from him in order to hide the smirk
on her face."What? Are the bags too heavy for your achy breaky bones?" she teased the man, giggling.
"C'mon, let's go sit down before we aggravate your arthritis." the girl cooed while leading the man to the food court.
"So you think you're ready for college?" Takeomi questioned the girl upon returning to their table with two pretzels in his hand and a black box.
Her brown eyes widened as the older man reminded her. "Don't remind me
Omi, at least not until my birthday passes, please!" she cried out tiredly."'Speaking of your birthday then, what kinda presents did you want?"
Y/N put a finger to her chin, thinking a little as she took a bite of her pretzel.
"Maybe a unicorn or maybe some hoes." she told the he man finally, an expression of seriousness on her face.
"You do t have any hoes?" Takeomi sounded surprised when he asked her.
The brown girl nodded, wiping a fake tear from her eye, "No bitches or niggas, sad isn't it?"
"It must really be hard, huh?"
"It is Omi, it really is..."
As the two placed the remainder of Y/N's bags outside her front door, she went to say goodnight to the man when he took her hand.
"Hold on Y/N, can we go for a walk before you go in?" he suggested, running his hands through his hair nervously.
She obliged, although she threatened that if any of her stuff got stolen, he was going to pay her back.
The two walked and talked before Takeomi grew more serious with his tone.
"I know that we're different in so many ways, and right now we can't be together but I want you to know that I do really like you..."
The brown girl looked into Takeomi's eyes, listening to him silently.
He pulled a long thin black box from his pocket and handed it to the girl. "So whenever you're ready and whenever it's actually possible, will you be my girlfriend?"
Y/N would never have guessed that Takeomi of all people would do something so bold.
Considering his constant reluctance in the beginning, it caught the girl totally off guard.
Her slightly shaking hands pushed to open the box, in it held an expensive looking bracelet with her name on it.
She smiled at the gift and then up at him.
Finally breaking the slightly uncomfortable silence, the girl suggested that he walk her back home.
When the pair arrived at her house, Takeomi waved to the girl silently before turning to leave.
"Takeomi!" she called to the man.
Up until he heard the girl call out or him, Takeomi felt as if he had fucked up colossally in every way possible.
The girl embraced the man from behind before speaking into his back.
"I really, really like you too.."
