Hello, lovelies!
This is the first 𝙚𝙭𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙩𝙚𝙧, an in-depth personal behind-the-scenes peek with me! Thank you so much for going with me on this journey, and I can't wait to start building community with you. The little orange heart in the title and different headings in the text mean it's exclusive! Eventually, these special chapters require payment to unlock, but they've got extra details, special stories, and fun and unique opporunities for us to get to know each other. And right now, my exclusives are still FREE. This week, we address the big orange elephant in the room: WATTYS! I won my first Wattys in 2020 with Breaking Darkness. Then, last year, I was a shortlisted for my vampire story Breaking Imhullu, and this year (2022), several of my stories were shortlisted! If you were shortlisted or a past Watty's winner, congrats! Today, we'll answer some question about how you can you get Wattys ready for next year. I share a few tips and tricks that I've learned over the past few years. This is the biggie. It's Watty's season, and the shortlist was just announced, which means folks are either celebrating or planning how they're going to change things up for the 2023 Wattys. I credit my 2020 Darkness win with getting me exposure that led to where I am today. After a lot of surprise and reflection about what I'd written, I've narrowed down what I think led to my success.
