A week and a half later :
The guys would be meeting at the Monroe residence for yet another team dinner.
They were 3 games into the finals and though they weren't leading, they were still pretty sure that they could score the championship.
Gabriel was hesitant about having another dinner at their house, but for some reason, Drea was all for it.
She decided that it was time she finally talked to Jordan. Plus, she couldn't stop thinking about him for some reason.
A couple days after their unplanned reunion, he contacted Juan saying that he was finally ready to have a conversation with Andrea.
Whether he gave her the answers she wanted or not, she at least wanted closure for their broken friendship.
"Okay, all the food is in the dining room. As usual, they'll probably fix their plates and go into the den or dining room. Umm, plates, napkins utensils are all there. Drinks are in the cooler, and fridge. Desert is in-"
"Babe," Gabe wrapped his arms around her, gently pecking her forehead. "Everything's gonna be fine,"
"I know I'm just making sure,"
"No you're not, you're distracting yourself cause you're nervous,"
She quickly looked away from his hard gaze.
Over the last week, she'd been acting different.
She wasn't as talkative and she was a bit on edge after seeing Jordan for the first time in 6 years.
But, Gabriel expected it seeing as how their friendship ended.
"I just wanna know what happened to my brother," she whined.
"I know that. But what if Julian is the one that doesn't want you to know what happened to him? Didn't you say he always kept stuff from you?"
"That's stupid,"
"I'm sorry," she apologized when she saw the smug expression on his face.
"It's fine. But whatever Jordan tells you, just accept it. It's taken him years to tell you whatever it is. Okay?"
"Okay,"
Around 30 minutes later, all the guys arrived and they made themselves at home.
The two hosts made sure all of their guests were served and comfortable before enjoying themselves.
Gabe engaged in his own conversation with some of the guys while Drea spoke to Klay at the kitchen island.
"I mean I know I'm not getting all my shots up, but I'm really trying you know?"
"Yeah, but you've been doing great. You only returned 5 months ago and you've done more than some guys have in their entire careers. That's something to be proud of when you look at all you went through these last 2 years,"
"Yeah, you're right,"
Drea nodded before looking around the room making sure her guests were okay once again.
Her eyes slowly trailed over to Jordan and she lowly giggled to herself seeing he was still sporting glasses.
Four eyes.
But he looked different than he did from when they were teenagers.
His body was more defined, he'd grown taller, and his style had improved tremendously.
Andrea liked the changes. Or maybe it was just the liquor and anxiousness talking.
Klay waved his hand in front of her face making her snap out of it.
