Riptide

Saturday morning in the middle of spring. It was everyone's free day today. No missions, no villains to fight.

Everyone chose a different way to spend their day. Bruce, Tony, Bucky, Sam and Steve went on a trip and they took Peter with them, Thor went to asgard with Vision, so the only one's left were Nat, Clint and Wanda.

Clint suggested to take them to his house so that Wanda could also meet his family.

"Laura hi, i missed you" Nat said as soon as she entered the house and hugged her
"How have you been?" they started talking, when a little girls voice interrupted them
"Auntie Nat!" Layla came screaming from her room and Natasha picked her up spinning her around.

Wanda stood awkwardly next to Clint not knowing what to do or say.
"Laura, this is Wanda, Wanda Maximoff" Clint introduced her
"It's so nice to finally meet you hun" Laura said with a smile.
"I'm happy to finally meet you too, Clint talks about your family a lot" Wanda responded returning the smile.
Wanda sat with Clint and Laura on the couch chatting, while Layla took Natasha to her room showing her all her new toys and drawings

After an hour or so Natasha joined their talk too.
"So Nat" Clint said "We were thinking about going on a picnic with the kids in the woods later for lunch"
"It's a great idea" Natasha agreed "I can bring my guitar and sing something to the kids like old times" she added
"I didn't know you could play guitar" Wanda said surprised
"Well it's been some time since I last played. I left it here because I was busy with missions and stuff and I thought that maybe one of the kids would want to try."
"Cooper gave it a try but he ended up playing drums" Laura said laughing
"it's one o'clock, I think we should start preparing the things we're taking with us" Clint said

Laura and Wanda prepared the sandwiches, cut some fruit to take with them and put some snacks in a bag. Nat and Clint helped the kids get ready and picked some toys to keep them busy.

They walked into the woods until they found a perfect spot to lay their picnic blankets. They all sat and ate and then the kids started playing, leaving the adults to talk.

After a little while Cooper and Layla approached them. Cooper asked for a bag of Doritos while Layla sat between Natasha and Wanda leaning her head on Nat's shoulder.
"I'm bored" Layla whispered in Natasha's ear
"Well what do you want to do?" She whispered back
"Can we go to our special place? You can play something on the guitar and we can sing together like we did last year. Please?" Layla said giving Nat puppy eyes
"Of course" Natasha said unable to say no to the little girl
"Yay, I can't wait to show it to auntie Wanda" Layla said getting up and pulling them both by their hands
"Where are we going?" wanda asked confused
"You'll see when we get there" Nat said smirking

"So this is it" Nat said when they got there. There was a small lake and some big rocks around it covered in moss. On one of the stones there was written auntie nat + layla in a heart.
"it's beautiful here" wanda said
"it really is" Nat agreed sitting down and getting her guitar out of the case.
"Ready for our song?" she turned to look at Layla. She nodded

Nat started playing on he guitar.
"I was scared of dentists and the dark"
They started singing together
"I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations"

"Omg I love this song" Wanda said and joined them

"Oh, all my friends are turning green
You're the magician's assistant in their dream"
Nat smiled looking at wanda

Nat stopped singing and let Wanda and Layla continue

"There's this movie that I think you'll like
This guy decides to quit his job and heads to New York City

And she's been living on the highest shelf"

And they come unstuck

Nat joined again

Nat stopped playing the guitar and her and Layla started applausing.
"You did amazing auntie wanda"
"Thank you Layla" Wanda said smiling
Natasha smiled looking at them
"I think we should start heading back, its starting to get late" Natasha said putting the guitar back in the case

They all got up and headed back to where the picnic was
