It was November 6, 1983 and me and my boys were playing D&D, the game was getting heated. "An army of troglodytes charge into the chamber" Mike said sitting right beside me as always. " You hear that boom boom .... Boom!" as he slammed his hands onto the table the four of us waited in anticipation for his next words. "The demogorgon" Mike exclaimed, "we're in deep shit" said my curly haired friend". Lucas and Dustin were arguing over fireball and casting a protection spell, "don't be a pussy Will fireball him" Lucas smiled at me "told you so even CC agrees with me". Mike slammed his hands on the table gathering our attention "The demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering!" He yelled "fireball!" Will yelled. We were looking for the dice when Mike's mom came to tell us it was time to end the campaign and go home. When Will found the dice and told us it landed on seven Lucas said it didn't count unless Mike saw it. it was just me and Will in the basement "tell I'm it landed on seven" I said "I will, come on before the demogorgon gets you CC" we laughed as we ran up the stairs.

"She's got a stick up her butt" is the first thing I heard coming outside the house. It was Dustin referring to Nancy wheeler Mike's older sister. " Yeah it's because she's been dating that douchebag, Steve Harrington." Lucas said. " I understand Steve is so hot and he has perfect hair" I said causing my friends to gag and me laugh. "She's turning into a real jerk" " she's always been a real jerk" "Nuh-uh, she used to be cool" Mike and Dustin went back and forth. "It was a seven" Will said talking about the game. I nodded "the demogorgon it got him" I said putting on my helmet my older sister Jess always made me wear. "Bye" I yelled riding off Will right on my tracks. "Goodnight ladies" Lucas exclaimed riding into the front of his house. "Race back to my place" I said to the boys behind me "winner gets a comic" Dustin said "okay I want super girl" I yelled as I biked as fast as I could, Will right behind me "I'll take x-men 134 " he said I made it home first of course "bye CC" they yelled in unison.

It was so dark by the time I got home my older sister Angie told me to get in my pajamas before our oldest sister Jess caught me, I obliged because Jess sometimes scares me. As I was getting ready to fall asleep of course my little sister Morgan had to come with her questions as always "so how did the campaign go", "great now can I go to sleep "I said a bit aggravated, "we have school in the morning", " I know but you've been talking about it for two weeks and you were gone all day" it went great now go to bed I'll tell you more about it in the morning".

"Wake up mom went into work early!" I was brushing my teeth yelling at my younger sisters to wake there sorry butts up. It was alot harder to keep everything together when moms taking more shifts at the hospital and dad being off "fighting for our country" as mom would say, but who gives a shit about our country when Morgan can barely remember what his face looks like. "Jess wheres my brush" "it's on the dresser" as I was putting on my clothes I got a call from Mrs.joyce " good morning Jessica is your mom there" " no she went into work early", "hey where's my flute case I can't find it anywhere" Angie said from the stairs " I don't know probably on top of the closet." "Thanks" she said running up stairs "sorry what were you saying" I said returning to the call " I just wanted to know have you seen Will. " I haven't but I can go ask CC" "thank you Jess I would really appreciate it" I went upstairs to find CC curling her hair "hey when's the last times you've seen Will" "um... last night why is he okay" "I don't know I don't think he went home last night". I heard her say something about that being weird as I went down the stairs to the phone "no she hasn't seen him since last night" "oh ok thank you so much" Joyce said sounding a little scared. "Your welcome" I hung up the phone and yelled to my sister's to get there asses downstairs in five minutes or we'll be late to school.

"If you play another Tina Turner song I'm gonna combust" Angie said rolling her eyes at me. "You obviously don't know good music" as I parked in front of Hawkins middles school I told my little sister CC to be good and stay safe since they can't find that's Byers kid. As we were riding to the high school I changed the radio to one of my favorite songs when you were mine by Cyndi lauper came on. Looked over to my little sister and asked "are you happy, it's not Tina anymore" I asked mockingly "your so funny she said back" we both laughed. As we got out of the car I told her not to talk to me, she was laughing but I wasn't joking

I was walking with my friends Barb and nancy as they were talking about Nancy's new boyfriend "Steve the hair Harrington" as all the girls called him, even I couldn't lie he had amazing hair. "We just made out a couple times" me and barb mocked Nancy Barb was talking gibberish about how she was gonna be as cool as me now, I never really known why they thought I was so cool maybe it because I'm not shy at all but who could be when your the oldest of three sisters. Steve left no subtleness when he left that note in her locker telling nancy to meet him in the bathroom.

The bell rang telling me class was finally over I love Mr.Clarke but even his class could get a little boring, he was talking about some homework we were supposed to do when Mike grabbed my arm and dragged me to his desk I already knew what they were so excited for. "It's beautiful" I said standing right by Mike as we all took a look at it. "When Will sees this he's totally gonna blow his shit" Lucas said Mr. Clarke warned him about his language or something but I didn't care he was totally right Will would be really excited. When we were playing with the machine we all got called into the office, Christina,Michael,Lucas,and Dustin. I was basically shitting my pants I've never gotten in trouble before especially with the cops, officer Jim Hopper was there the Chief of police.

The boys were arguing over who to go first, I couldn't even breathe let alone talk I was so scared. Hopper told them to calm down. In that moment I drowned everything out I knew this was about Will and if the cops came to the school I knew he didn't make it home last night. Lucas and Dustin were bickering right over me and Mike when Hopper reminded us one at a damn time. I finally spoke up to say "we can help look" they all agreed with me... Except the police. He told us we are all to go home no nonsense or whatever I didn't care until he looked directly at me " Christina I haven't spoken to your father in a while and I wouldn't want the first things he hears from me is that one of his girls is miss behaving" I was speechless. "Do I make myself clear" they were bickering around me, he stood up in front of us, "do I make myself... Clear".... Yes sir we all said and I really wanted to mean it but for my friends... I'd do anything.

"Really he said that" Jess said shocked that he would tell me something like that "yeah I was scared shit less" "hey don't say that I don't want mom thinking you got that shit from me " "whatever". As soon as we got home I ran up the stairs straight to my room I told Mike Ill be home at 4:30 it was 4:27 "I'm here" " your supposed to say over when your done over he responded", we talked for a little over five minutes on what to do when we finally settled on looking for will, we were his best friends we knew him better than anyone.

We were riding our bikes were we saw the place we're they supposedly found Wills bike. It was barely drizzling as we made our way into the dirt "I'm scared" I finally said "just stay on channel and six don't do anything stupid" Mike said back. As we made our way into the woods it started pouring rain another sign this was probably a shitty idea. The boys were again bickering for the 100th time as I pointed my flashlight waiting for anything to happen. Dustin was talking about how dumb we were being and he was right this was a terrible idea but we had to find Will whatever bad thing got him I didn't care we just needed him back. Mike heard a noise coming and that's when we saw it.... Or should I say her...
