Maddie POV
I wake up, and rub sleep out of my eyes. My alarm is going off, it says- 4:30. Wait what? Oh yeah! Today I start my privates with Gianna.
Melissa: Maddie! Wake up!
Maddie: One second Mom!
I hurry out of bed, and slip into my dance clothes. I look at Kenzie, still fast asleep. She doesn't even know I have morning privates, I guess she'll find out today.
Melissa POV
I can't actually believe I'm letting Maddie do this, this is crazy! I know Maddie wants to dance, but this is a little much.
Melissa: Maddie! Get in the car!
Maddie: Ok!
Maddie POV
I yawn as I walk in the studio. It is super early. A few members of the senior company are here, but they are just stretching; most early morning classes begin at 5:30. I'm here a little early, so I set my bag in the locker room, and stretch. After about 5 minutes Gianna walks in. We do some technique, and then we work the group and the trio. You always have to work a lot harder in privates, so after class I'm exhausted.
Melissa: Are you sure you want to do this? [continue with the privates]
Maddie: Of course.
Melissa: Alright, well we have to go to school.
Maddie: Oh yeah.
The car drive is pretty quiet. My Mom packed a bag of granola bars, I had 2 before class, and I decide to eat another. I'm pretty tired, but it will all be worth it.

Chloe POV
The bus sucks. Without Maddie Jess is horrible. While she screams insults, I put my earbuds in. She actually yanks them out. Then puts them in her pocket.
Jess: Thanks for the earbuds! *smirk* Girls, lets go.
El + Taylor: Ok!
Tears begin to well up. Suddenly I can't hold them back, and I cry. Ugh! Why did she pick me? When the bus pulls up, I see Maddie getting out of the car. I wipe my tears, and the bus stops. I run out to greet her.
Chloe: Maddie!
Maddie: Chl- Why were you crying!?
Chloe: Uh, no reason.
Maddie: Where are your earbuds?
I stare at the iPod in my hand. I ALWAYS have earbuds attached to it. Damn it!
Chloe: Uh well, I lost them.
Maddie: Oh. I thought Jess did something.
Chloe: Nope!
Maddie: Uhh Ok, I guess.
Why did I do that!? I guess I don't want Maddie to worry. I want Maddie to beat Sophia, but I don't think I ever could. Maddie and I have always been head to head, but if she keeps practicing like this, I'm going to be left in the dust. I'm just not good enough. Wait! What am I thinking!? I'm a great dancer... right?
Jess POV
Ugh! Of course Maddie is with Chloe. Why can they dance!? My mother was an amazing dancer, I want to be, but I'm NOT. A few years ago, all I wanted was to be best friends with Maddie. Then it hit me. Her and Chloe were friends, but in the past few years they got closer. I have no chance! So I had to get Chloe out of the way. When I realized that wasn't going to work, I thought Maddie should pay. That didn't work either. Stupid Chloe! I hate her. She can dance, I can't. She's best friends with Maddie Ziegler, I'm not. She ruins everything. She'll regret that. Watch out Chloe.

Kenzie POV
This morning was weird. {A/N In this story Melissa is married to Greg, and he loves the girls, and they love him. Maddie and Kenzie call him Greg. He is also supportive of dance.} Greg drove me to school, because Maddie and Mom were "busy." What? The school day was pretty uneventful, and I rode the bus home. I saw Maddie and Chloe sitting next to each other.
Kenzie: Maddie! Where were you this morning?
Maddie: Uh, I'll tell you when we get home.
Okay, that was weird. Oh well.
*they get off the bus and are in the house*
Kenzie: Ok, so where were you?
Maddie: *sigh* Early morning private with Gianna.
Kenzie: What!?
Maddie: I'm sorry-
Kenzie: You didn't even tell me! How could you!
Maddie: I just have t-
Kenzie: No wonder you're so much better than me!
Maddie: It's not like that-
Kenzie: What do you mean!? So Mom is driving you to early morning privates now!? She always did like YOU better!!
Wait, why did I say that?
Maddie: What are you talking about?
Kenzie: Oh, like it's not true!
Wait, WHY did I say that!? At that point I run and leave the room, what just happened?
