The next day I wore one of my nicer dresses. It had more ruffles and looked lightly cream colored. I decided to bake a small cake. I put some berries in it and began to take out dish ware. I was sure she'd be here soon and I was excited. I decided to prepare everything around noon so it was just perfect.
The was a soft knock on the door and naturally I jumped. I quickly rushed over and opened it. It was Alice of course, and she had a basket with her. "What's that?" I asked. "Just some goodies" she said sweetly. I looked past her and saw she tied her horse to one of the wooden poles in the front.
I welcomed her inside and she looked around amazed. "If you don't mind me asking... how on earth did you get this place?" She asked. "Ahh!! Well.... I ran away from home five years ago .... It was a pretty bad situation. But as I left the town I stumbled upon this abounding place. It took some time but I fixed it up nicely" I explained. She looked surprised and impressed all in one. "Wow! That's amazing.... So did you once live in the town?" She asked.
"Yes! But I only go rarely. I haven't been into town in almost two years. Once I was stable enough I didn't have a reason for going" I smiled. She nodded impressed and looked around. "Oh! Where are my manners... here let me take your hat and basket" I jumped. She giggled and handed me her basket and hat and I gently placed them on the table. She was a little shorter than me but I can tell she was very fragile. Her shoulders were thin and so were her arms.
"How much time do you have to be out here?" I asked. Ahhh I'll just try to be home before the sun sets. But it is very early, it took an hour to get here so I'll leave accordingly" she smiled. "Shall I show you around then?" I asked. "Oh yes please!!" She smiled. I grabbed her hand gently and began to pull her to my bedroom. "My bedroom took the longest to complete. I had to find cushion for the bottom and I knitted all the blankets! Winters were super cold the first year here" she looked at all the blankets mesmerized.
"This is my wardrobe.... I had to place this on a wagon... which was left behind here thankfully. I went into town with the wagon and would gather things that people didn't want... then I'd pull it back here... that took long too but it worked out" I explained. She opened the door and began to look at all my dresses and outfits. "Wow.... And the dresses?"
"I mostly made most of them from materials I had from when I left. I think I've made a lot of the things I have here. I know pottery so it helped me make cups and plates and all kinds of things. As for my two cows and chickens did a lot of trading to finally get them two years ago. Before that I was just eating lots of berries" I laughed nervously.
I sounds so sad.... I don't want her to feel bad for me! I looked to her and laughed nervously but to my surprise she looked amazed. "Wow!! You are so cool! I would have never been able to do all that alone.... I probably would have cried" she laughed nervously.
I cried a lot too.....
"And your hair.... It's so lovely and long" she smiled. He began to touch my hair and I froze up. She was being so gentle as she played with it and spun it around her fingers. "If you want I can bring you anything you'd like from in town?"she suggested.
"Oh.... Uhh I don't need anything right now" I laughed out. "May I try in one of your dresses?" She asked. My face lit up and I nodded excited. "Yes!!!! Here I can help you with your corset and dress" I smiled. She nodded excited and began to take of her shoes.
She turned away from me and I slowly began to unbutton her dress. My face felt unusually warm as I did this but I chose to ignore it. She slowly began to pull off her dress and I began to help her with her corset. It looked so tight on her and made me glad I didn't wear them anymore. "What do you usually wear under?" She asked.
"Ahhh well.... Nothing really..." I said embarrassed. Her face turned red and she began to laugh. "Well... at least no one is around" she laughed. "You can always leave your under garments on" I suggest. However she shook her head and disagreed.
"I'll be fine.... I hate wearing these things anyway!" She laughed. "Let me grab you something" I spoke. She nodded and began to take off her clothes. I looked through my wardrobe and found a nice pretty dress for her to wear... it was thin and very breathable.
I turned around to give it to her and she was facing me.... I saw.... Everything!!! But I kept my composure. "Here.... You go" I said feeling my face hot. Why was I being this way?!!!!! I'm such a wreck!
"How lovely... thank you" she smiled. She grabbed the dress and began to put it on. "Wow!! This feels way better!!" She cheered. She began to twirl around and let her hair loose. "Wouldn't it take to long to put it back up?" I asked. "No! I'm really quick with my hair" she reassured. Her hair was long as well and it put a smile to my face.
She didn't look like the same woman anymore. She was more radiant and beautiful. "I made some cake!! Let's go have some!" I suggested. She nodded at me and began to follow me I got the kitchen.
