He fucked up. He knew he messed up once he saw Vegas stood in front of him after he opened his bedroom door. His feet rooted on the spot, unable to even took a step back, as if it was the last obstacle that would allow the man into his life. But Vegas only stood silently, watching him. There was no 'can I come in?' or 'is this not the right time?", he let Pete to decide.
Finally, with what felt like a long time Pete stumbled back, no longer blocking him. only then, Pete opened his mouth. "May I come in?"
Pete nodded his head rigidly. "Please."
*gulp*
"Just sit wherever." Pete said, watching nervously as the man entered his room with steady steps. There was a sofa and a chair between the coffee table, on the right wall. The man wouldn't just decide to sit on the bed, would he?
Vegas sat on the chair, after he unbuttoned his suit. So graceful that even Pete has a moment of jealousy. Even though he was only a bodyguard, Pete felt like Vegas somehow looked more like a young master in disguise. The first glimpse of his face, you might think that he looked fierce. But the more you look at it, the more handsome and refined he look. Unlike his baby face.
As he thought that the bed area was unsafe, Pete decided to sit on the sofa, with the coffee table between them. To maintain the distance. But he felt it was still a short one when Vegas gave him a small smile, the first he ever saw.
"I'm sorry it took me a long time to fulfill my promise." He said. As Pete shook his head, the man took out a small and slim box and put it on the table. "If you like it, you may have it."
*gulp*
Pete stared at the box. This seemingly innocent box feels ominous to him. his hands still balled into fists on his lap, unable to move. Should he accept it?
*thump*
"It's okay for you to refuse. No hard feeling." Vegas' voice come again. But it was almost drowned with how loud his heart beating in his ears.
*thump thump*
His hand slowly reached out. Fingertips touched the rough surface of the box, and clasped it. Tentatively, Pete opened it.
*thump*
He let out a soft gasp, almost like a whimper, as he saw a black padded handcuff inside the box. His fingers trembled, still he reached for it and took it out. So soft to the touch. He wasn't sure what it made of. Not fur he guessed, but it doesn't feel like a fake leather too. He looked up and saw Vegas still watching him calmly. Silent, with no words spoken. As if he waited for his cue from Pete.
"It looks beautiful." He admitted, eyes looking down and fingering the handcuff.
"I'm glad you like it."
Silence.
Pete can't stand this silence. Not when he didn't know what to do and what he can expect. He didn't know what Vegas' plan were, and he was afraid to be ridiculed. To be rejected.
He was biting into his lips when he heard Vegas spoke. "Truthfully, I have an interest in that kind of play."
Pete held the handcuff tighter. "..Really?"
"Do you want me to put it on you?" the straightforward words took him off guard. He looked up and saw Vegas leaning in, hand clasped in front of his body. His piercing eyes watched every little movement that Pete made.
*thump*
"..you do?"
*thump thump*
Vegas nodded. He reached out one of his hand, silently waiting for him to give him the handcuff. His body trembled, millions of reasons rushed into his head telling him all the excuse he should and shouldn't give the handcuff.
It changed everything. Like two paths opened in front of him, but they were only leading to the darkness.
Still, Vegas didn't rush him. No more words were spoken. He still waited with his arm stretched for Pete to decide on everything.
The box and handcuff changed hands. Pete tried to erased all the negative thinking his head conjured, focusing at what was happening right now.
A glimpse of smile formed on Vegas' face as he received it. He outstretched his hand again. "Come here."
Somehow, Pete didn't know why, he chose to fall down to his knees, body still trembling as he crawled until he stopped at the foot of the chair Vegas sat on. He felt tears forming in the corner of his eyes as he hold out his hands.
*click*
The way the handcuff sounds was like a music in his ears, instantly calming him. Once again it brought him into focus, watching with wide eyes as Vegas locked the handcuff on his wrists and hooked the key in the middle of the chain.
"Good boy."
*gasp*
Pete's lips parted, surprised at the sudden praise. But he didn't have time to think, as Vegas continued.
"Do you know what we are doing right now?"
Slowly, Pete shook his head. But Vegas didn't rebuke him. Instead, he stared at him and made sure Pete saw how his hand slowly reached to his face and caress it. It was so gentle Pete had to closed his eyes.
"Then, for starter. What is your safeword?"
Safeword. He knew that term. He could say it when it felt too much. Or when he felt unsafe and uncomfortable.
He remembered how some insane people come shouting at him and Kong when he attended the pride parade. He remembered how they mocked him behind his back, loud enough for him to hear when he brought his dates back to their home.
"..bible." he uttered, still closing his eyes. Softly, in between hate and defeat.
"Good." Vegas only said, not rebutting him with his choice and even started to caress his hair. "You like it like this, restrained."
The innocent comment stopped his heart for a second. His eyes opened, with horror and panic clouding his vision. Vegas hushed him unhurriedly, eyes without judgement. His fingers never stopped caressing his hair and face.
"Okay?"
Still shaking, Pete nodded.
"We'll do it slowly." Vegas said, like a whisper.
Pete let out a shaky breath, gulped for air. Again, he nodded.
Vegas made sure he had calmed down, watching him. Then, slowly, oh slowly he leaned on for a kiss. Just a peck, really. But it made Pete's body sagged with relief he let out a whimper.
"Easy." The man held him tight. "I just want to make sure we're compatible."
For what felt like hundredth time, Pete nodded again. A smile fully formed on Vegas' face now.
"Good."
And Pete closed his eyes.
