Pete's POV

****

"So, what do you think about this place? I think this is the best one so far." Kong voiced out his opinion as he checked every corner of the apartment. They were in one of the luxurious condo in Bangkok, checking if the apartment was suitable for him or not. Yeah, finally after a month his Pa summoned him to their 'home'. An antique mansion in the middle of the city, the place was big enough to host thousands of people. They were hardly stayed there, what with Pa being busy following Khun Korn around and him being shoved to be Khun Kim's friend. Anyhow, people said the place was the headquarter of the minor family. It was supposed to be Khun Korn's brother's house, but they said he died a long time ago.

His Pa made it obvious that he wanted him to get out from the headquarter. Unless he followed his step and work with Khun Korn. Or at least P' Kinn, he guessed. Maybe his Pa thought he just leeched off Khun Korn's wealth. But he didn't feel like it. He didn't know what he would like to do, but working with the family was something he felt he shouldn't do. So off he went to find another house. No way in hell he spent his time in their 'home' if it's not necessary.

"I think this is nice." Pete nodded his head. The apartment has two bedrooms. The real estate agent suggested they can make some renovation and make a walk-in closet or a small workout room. "Or we can make a play room." He mumbled in agreement. Vegas would love that.

"What did you say?" Kong widened his eyes.

"Hm?"

"No, I think I heard something incredible coming out from your mouth."

"Really?"

Kong gave him a look. "Seriously? You really want to play dumb?"

Pete grinned at him. "It's nothing, Kong. Thanks for recommending me this place."

"Euh euh.. I'm not gonna meddle in your business. But you have to tell me later, okay?" Kong pointed his finger at him. Kongphob was really a good friend. He felt fortunate with their first meeting in the airport more than 3 years ago.

They checked everything and made sure everything was in order. Then they signed the lease and made some appointment with an interior designer the real estate agent recommended. It was way past lunch hour when they finished, so they decided to have a late lunch in some restaurant downtown. Kong was lazily stirred his iced coffee when he sent Pete a glare.

"Spill."

A spoonful of soup was halfway to his mouth when Kong said that to him. he put the meal away and sighed forlornly. "Can't you ask after the meal? I'm hungry."

His friend only rolled his eyes. "You didn't tell me his information. Zilch. Nada. It was unusual. And I have had enough of it. So come on. Tell me."

He wanted to roll his eyes and be sassy for once, but the waiter had the audacity to enter their private room at that time. he settled for a glare. "His name is Vegas," he finally said. he grab their main course and started eating without minding how Kong sputtered.

"Then? What else? you can't just say his name with nothing attached to it!"

"Watch me." Pete threatened as he bit into his pork as hard as he can.

"Childish." Kong snorted, but decided to join him eating.

"Fine.." as usual, Pete was the one who succumbed first. They almost finished eating anyway. "Before you ask, yes, he was the same guy I told you about before. He was older than me, and.." the words he wanted to say got stuck in his throat. He wondered if he can just said Vegas' personal info to his friend. What should he say anyway? That the guy was a bodyguard for mafia family? That he was a graduate from military academy? That he was.. "He was an orphan."

"Oh. Poor him." Kong brought his hand on his chest and showed a sympathetic look. "And?"

"What and?"

"Ugh. You. Are you guys playing safe? I can't believe you want to make a play room!"

"Maybe I want to have a room to store my toys!"

Again, Kong gave him a look. "What kind of toy are you having anyway? Don't act innocent! I know it was the same room I think about!"

Pete pouted. "You're no fun.."

"The hell I'm not fun! I got more fun than you! From several partners even!" his friend become agitated for no reason. They blinked and looked at each other before bursting out a laugh. "Seriously though.." Kong finished laughing first and dabbed the tears from the corner of his eyes. "I just want to make sure you're playing safe."

"We do! We have safeword and gesture and all that jazz!" he blurted out his reply. And what a wrong move. Pete thought that he finally broke his friend, the person's eyes widened comically. "What?"

"I thought you're just playing a little kinky! Not have a full-blown session!" he threw his hands in the air, as if giving up hope for Pete.

"Well, Vegas guided me through it all, you know. I'm safe with him."

A beat. "It's not his first time then?"

"No." Pete shook his head, feeling a bit iffy about it still. "It's true. We talked about it first. And he always made sure I'm feeling okay before proceeding. I couldn't expect there would be another person doing that as gentle as him."

Kong heaved a sigh. "You're far gone to him already." the statement ring so true Pete can't deny. he worried his lip when his friend continued as he sipped into his iced coffee. "Well, it was only a month and you're already official with somebody. I can't help but worry."

"We're not.. exactly official." Pete slouched into his seat and hunched his shoulder as Kong not only giving him a look, but glare fiercely at him.

"Is that why you asked me if you can only do it physically?! Pete Phongsakorn Saengtham! You call this man right now, in front of me, and clear your relationship!"

Pete winced. "I.. don't have his number."

"WHAT?!!"

"I always see him whenever he came to my house!"

"And you believe you'll be safe with him?! OH MY GOD, PETE!"

"I'm.. I'm off to meet Porsche." He immediately sensed a danger and want to stand up to flee. Unfortunately, Kong's hands were firm on his shoulder, preventing his escape. Oh, if a stare could kill.. Kong's eyes were burning holes into him, he felt smaller and smaller.

"You will meet Porsche at nine. The sun hasn't even set yet, my dear Pete." Kong smiled tightly, reigning in his anger.

"..Sorry."

"Ah ah. I don't understand your reasoning. How could you believe that man when you don't even know him?"

Pete blinked. That was the question he asked not too long ago. But the way Vegas answered whatever he asked, the way that man looked at him like he appreciated what he sees, the way he made sure Pete was okay and his touches always feel soothing. He was aware that Pete really liked his touch, but the man didn't even expect someone would touch him back. It was.. sad. And more importantly, the things he did to him only make Pete wants to do everything to make the man happy.

"I'm alright, Kong. I promise." He could only say this. His friend pursed his lips, clearly dissatisfied.

"Fine. But make sure to tell me if something is wrong. You got it?"

"Khrub.."

"See you do that." Kong humph-ed.

And finally, they dropped the subject.
