Trigger Warnings: unhappy ending MUWAHAHAHAHAH

~~~~~~~~
"Get it together!" Soobin's best friend snapped, pushing back his sweaty hair that was plastered on his forehead. It was so hot in here. The air conditioner was literally broken, making all of them grouchy and snappy. Of course, being the leader, he had to be peppy and sooo happy when he was having a hard time himself. He hated that part of being a leader, he absolutely hated it.
"I'm trying," He gritted his teeth and got back into position. Yeonjun smacked him in the head once again since Soobin had messed up again. His face burned in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry, I-"
"Save it hyung," Taehyun mumbled annoyed, "Let's get this choreo done," Soobin closed his mouth shut and wanted to scream at the ceiling, but he didn't because he was the good example of a leader. He was absolutely HAPPY. Note the sarcasm please.
---
It started when Soobin kept making mistakes over and over, literally everything he did was turning out to be a mistake. He stumbled over a game board that Kai and Beomgyu were playing with and he was forced out of the room. Them saying 'Go make dinner with Taehyun'. He did but he just burned the cheese whatever thing he was supposed to make. He just wanted to be with someone at least. Someone who cared for him to be there.
"Aish, you're not folding the laundry right, Soobin-ah," Yeonjun scolded, shaking his head. "Go do something else,"
"But I'm bored!" Soobin whined sadly, hoping he could be cute enough to change Yeonjun's mind but instead Yeonjun rolled his eyes at him.
"You're too old to be like that, Soobin, just go do something else with the maknaes," Soobin huffed, feeling hurt because the others didn't want him to be there at all. They just kept kicking him out when he tried to join in the fun. He threw the shirt at Yeonjun's face and it landed perfectly on his face by the way.
"Soobin!" He ignored Yeonjun and walked away, upset and sad that he was alone. Very alone and no one wanted him to be there. Everyone had someone and he had no one who really wanted him to spend time with them. His heart clenched as he slowly walked to his room passing by Beomgyu and Kai who was still on the floor, playing and goofing around with each other. Their laughter rang in his ears, making his resentment and bitterness rise to the surface.
"Soobin hyung? Is dinner ready?" Kai called, as Soobin just stood there, staring into space awkwardly.
"How would I know?!? You should know! You're not just a baby! You can make food too!" Soobin snaps once his maknae repeats the question a few times.
"Hyung? Are you okay?" Kai's calm response made him more irritable and even more bitter. Soobin glared at him and rolled his hands into tight angry fists. Beomgyu's wrinkled forehead made him more angry.
"Am I okay?? Am I OKAY?!?" Soobin scoffed, shaking his head bitterly before realizing that his fingernails were making crescents in his palms.
"Soobin-hyung! Don't be so rude to, Kai, he doesn't deserve that treatment!" Gyu exclaimed sternly, narrowing his eyes at him. Soobin looked at Kai's concerned face before sighing and decided to just walk away from the two youngsters. He could feel their stare on him but he did not turn around or say anything. He wanted to sleep and be okay in the morning. He would apologize in the morning after he slept some...maybe tomorrow would be better.. Too bad that wouldn't be happening.
--
He should've apologized earlier. And now here he was, standing in the middle of the practice room, literal drops of sweat falling of his hair and his members were acting as if they hated him. He hasn't done anything wrong except for messing up so much that the dance instructor had told them they would get two more hours of dance practice. It wasn't his fault! Was it?  He cleared his throat and opened his mouth to speak after the instructor had to step outside for a moment to answer a phone call but Taehyun raised his hand making Soobin stop and close his mouth slowly.
"Save it, Soobin," Soobin furrowed his eyebrows and sighed.
"I don't mean to.." his voice trailed off when he saw Beomgyu roll his eyes. "Guys, c'mon, I'm sorry. And I apologize, Kai, for being rude. I don't feel-" Yeonjun scoffed angrily. Kai gave him a weak smile which brightened Soobin's mood but only for the eldest to ruin it.
"We are all tired, Soobin! Just stop messing up okay??!" Soobin deflated and bit his lip harshly to hold back the tears that was ready to explode. He turned away from them to grab his bottle of water. He shouldn't be here, should he?
"Gosh, he's so annoying, why doesn't he just work harder?" He could hear the others talk amongst themselves and it made him feel even worse. His thoughts were racing in his brain and he then realized what he had to do.
Two Years Later ( ik i am evil, your welcome )
"Hey.. what coffee would you like?" The tall dark-haired man asked quietly as he waited for the customer to order his drink. The customer hummed before saying his order, "An Americano please," Soobin gasped in shock, lifting his head to see a slightly older Huening Kai standing in front of him.
"Soobin!" Kai exclaimed in shock, "Where have you been? It's been forever!"
"Yeah, it has," Soobin laughed awkwardly. Kai's eyes watered and smiled softly. "I missed you, Kai-ah,"
"I missed you too.. The group's never been the same, y'know," Kai murmured before grabbing Soobin's hand gently. "Gosh, hyung, I wish we could have fixed things between all of us." Soobin sighed loudly and gritted his teeth.
"We can't change the past,"
"I know...but..." Soobin squeezed his hand.
"Let's get together sometime," Hyuka nodded excitedly before a tear dripped down his cheek. Soobin's co-worker handed Kai's drink and he reached to Soobin to pay for it but Soobin shook his head telling him it was on the house.
"It was good to see you, hyung,"
"Good to see you too, Hyuka,"
