Franesca wiped more sweat from her brow, but it was useless. It would simply pool again within mere seconds. It created this constant sensation of clamminess that felt vomit inducing. Exposed flesh was a hell in itself, but all of the subtle annoyances and abnormalities of The Limbo just made waking up and breathing enough to want to find a sword and slice one's neck in half.
Franesca had attempted that, among other things. Eternal life had never been so damning.
Staring blankly at the buzzing beam of light that taunted her with its protrusion all the way up to the surface of Arríbana, she contemplated jumping into the water and letting the squid take her out again, it wouldn't permanently kill her, she knew that much, but it would at least be a split second of bliss before she was forced awake again in the same place she always woke up. Those soggy, disgusting, bed sheets that she ripped in half at least once a day, but of course, came back fully mended when she decided she was tired of existing for the day.
She heard a crack that was loud enough to forcefully bring her shoulders up to her ears. "I'm tortured enough down here, don't you think it's time to give it a rest with the loud noises?" Franesca turned around and stared at the other woman before her.
She wasn't a maiden. If anything, she looked quite normal. Rich black curls with matching black eyes and lips. Her skin was the color of a sunset that was just touching the horizon line. A golden tan that practically shimmered. Everything about her would have been considered sleek, goddess like. To Franesca, it just meant she was even more the equivalent of an eel.
