I borrowed this story from my sister. She wrote it but I was mad at her for something that she did. So I wrote it as my own. THIS IS RIGHTFULLY The_lovely_rose's!!!
We didn't mean to. It just happened. I swear I didn't mean to do it. Kayla didn't either. But I know I won't ever forgive myself. It's just, like, impossible. You try to when you know that you killed someone.
It all started on a warm, sunny, spring day. Kayla, Tessa, and I were having a picnic. We got tons of sandwiches, cookies, juice, cake, and little packets of cheese and crackers. It was fun at first, but then I reached inside the basket for a cookie. Instead, I felt a scaly and thin object. I looked and let out a scream. "Snake!" I leaped off the ground and Kayla followed, saying, "What? Where?" I was surprised to see that Tessa was laughing as she grabbed the basket, and pulled out the snake. I was about to ask if she'd gone crazy, but I realized that it was fake. "Oh, Alex, you are so easy to trick!" Tessa giggled. "That was hilarious!" I was angry at her. "That wasn't funny at all!" I protested. "Don't be such a baby!" She raises a neatly plucked eyebrow. "Or are you?" "Tessa!" Kayla scolds. But I've had enough. I grab my jacket and gesture to Kayla to come. She thankfully follows. That was officially the day that our pranking wars began.
Long story short, we pulled pranks on each other every other day. It ranged from fake love letters to recorded prank calls. We weren't very creative, but we weren't professionals, either. Then one day Tessa brought it up to a whole new level. Kayla and I were sitting at our lunch tables when I got up and walked to the nearest bathroom. When I came back, I noticed Tessa and a group of girls were whispering and glancing at me. I didn't think much of it then; they were always gossiping. I was wearing my cute jean skirt, patterned with blue butterflies. I was almost to my seat when I felt my skirt being pulled down, all the way to my ankles. Oh my gosh! I thought. I turned and saw Becca, one of Tessa's friends, snickering at me. I'm not a genius, but I knew that Becca pulled my skirt down. I quickly yanked it up, but the damage was done. The entire cafeteria was laughing, pointing fingers at me. Thank god for spandex. I gape at Tessa, who looks shocked. She mouths, Sorry, to me, but I know I won't accept it. She should have stopped Becca. Kayla drags me out of there, with my face as red as my hair.

"This is it!" Kayla says excitedly. After hours of planning, we finally found out a good revenge for the cafeteria incident. Kayla would be with Tessa while at the local super market. Then I, disguised as a robber, would take out a fake gun. After that...well, we'd have to wait and see. Kayla honks her horn at a passing car as we drive by. She mutters something about unintelligent drivers while I think about how many cars there are outside. We get to the store and I set up. My dad owns the place and I told him not to be alarmed by a robber. After 10 minutes, Tessa walks in and waves to Kayla. My cue is sent by her and I emerge from the rack of toiletries and shout, "Everybody, put your hands up!" in a deep, gruff voice. What Tessa does is shocking. She screams and runs outside. All I hear is a squealing of tires and an ear-piercing scream. I run outside, panic sweeping through me. What happened?! My breath catches in my throat when I see what is in front of me. Tessa, my best friend until a couple of days ago, is lying on the street, blood oozing out of her head. Her eyes are closed and her blond hair is strewn across her limp body. A man steps out of a car an inch away from Tessa, a shocked look on his face. Now I get it. Tessa was hit by a car. Because of me.

I'm waiting outside a hospital room when I get the news. Apparently, the car had hit Tessa forcefully and she had hit her head against the pavement. Hard. The doctors couldn't fix it. Tessa is dead, but my mind won't accept it. I can't feel anything. Only when I get home the tears come. I stay in my room, sobbing all night. My parents are pounding on my door, but I don't unlock it. My best friend was gone because of me. Because of one irresponsible prank.
