"jihoon, control your breathing.
keep it stable, yet put some force into it.
your oxygen must circulate, let it flow through you.
remember to control it,
it would help you unleash your full potential one day, my son."
[ 5:01am, kuyuu village ]
"hey, kid, wake up." the man nudges the sleeping male, jihoon groans. "wake me up when i care, stranger." he mumbles, turning to the side. the man mentally face palmed, "look, i know i haven't asked your name but i believe that you, perhaps, is jihoon and that i assume the person yelling outside is a close friend or relative, perhaps a family member-"
jihoon immediately opened his eyes as he jolted up. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU JUST SAY-" suddenly, he hears his brother's voice just outside. seokmin?
"HYUNG! JIHOON HYUNG!" and he was right, that voice did belong to his brother. panicking, he kicked the door open. "HEY!" the man yelled, jihoon cursed. "oh, sorry-" seokmin gripped both his shoulders, frantically shaking him, agressively. "HYUNG! WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN ALL NIGHT?!" seokmin shouts, eyes wide. "i-" before jihoon could say a word, seokmin swooped him in his arms, bridal style.
embarassed, jihoon hit his brother in the head, "hey! put me down! what is up with you-" he stopped when he sees his face. "w-we don't have time, hyung. i-i messed up." seokmin says, voice wavering as he kept his focus on the path as he kept running, whilst carrying jihoon in a hurry.
"what do you mean, seok?" jihoon asks, anxious.
seokmin didn't answer for a few moments, tears falling down on his cheeks. "it happened."
jihoon was even more confused, "what?" he asks, quietly. though, seokmin didn't respond. he didn't ask any more questions after that. instead, they kept going, no one talked. suddenly, seokmin came to a halt, putting his brother down gently, eyes focused on what's before them. "seok, what's going on-" jihoon gasped.
there they stood, right in front of their home.
instead of feeling a warm, welcoming aura, there was nothing but pure agony.
blood soaked through the snow, and their house.
jihoon's breathing became heavy and unstable, seokmin started sobbing.
"MOTHER! CHAN!" jihoon wasted no time and immediately rushed to his family, seokmin following from behind, sobbing louder. jihoon hurriedly checked their pulses, not at all minding the blood on his clothing. his eyes started watering when his mother was completely unconscious, there's nothing they could do, she's completely gone now.
he noticed his brother's appearance had changed, his brown hair was now pitch black, quite longer than usual but that isn't what he should focus on right now. he's just glad that chan still felt warm, even through the breezing winter.
he carries his brother in his arms, determined to save him, there's still a chance.
"seokmin! he's still warm- we need to take him to the fucking hospital right now-"
seokmin's knees gave in, falling to the ground covered in snow, weeping. "h-hyung. i'm so sorry." he spoke in a small voice, jihoon gave him a questioning look, "what? i- look, min- we need to go right now or else we'll fucking lose chan too-"
"IT'S MY FAULT!" he spoke louder, until he's to the point where he's practically shouting. "I JUST STOOD THERE UNTIL I ENDED UP RUNNING AWAY! I WAS THE REASON OUR FAMILY DIED, HYUNG!" he fumed. jihoon's eyes widened, "you ran away..from what, seokmin?" he tried to ask more about the situation before completely losing his temper, this was his brother after all, he needs to stay patient, for now.
