"Derek, why on earth are we coming back to this horrid town," the short redhead exclaimed from the passenger seat as the sign with the words "WELCOME TO BEACON HILLS" in bold text flew past her side of the car while Derek was driving on the low-lit road.

"Come on, Sparks. We're here for Laura. She came here for a reason. She same reason she called us for," Derek's voice was soft, yet firm. His American accent a contrast to her English one. One might be shocked to learn that they are related.

"Haven't I told you enough times that I don't like to be called "Sparks". It's slightly offensive," the teen huffed, mumbling the last part to herself, even though she knew they both have enhanced hearing. She didn't like the nicknames 'Sparks' or 'Sparky' because it was her childhood nicknames, mostly used by her adopted mother.

"Sorry, Rory."

Truth be told, neither of them had been back to Beacon Hills since the tragic night of the Hale's house fire, both being too haunted by memories. But Laura was here—for whatever reason—so that meant that they're here too. They were her for whatever family they had left. Besides, they should only be a few hours, if not a couple days, right?

***********

After a long drive, they finally ended up at the former Hale house. Derek almost immediately left the car once he parked it, while the redhead teen stayed in the car, staring at the house filled with early childhood memories.

In all honesty, Aurora has never been out much when she lived with the Hale's. She was found in Beacon Hills reserve at the age of four with no memory of who she was, but the Talia Hale adopted her once she learned she was supernatural. But, since Aurora was supernatural at such a young age, she had to stay inside—and near Talia, for her safety and to learn control over her abilities. Something she still struggles with to this day.

The redhead finally pulled from her thoughts when she noticed the sun going down, filling the sky with shades of pink, orange, yellow, and purple. When Aurora left the car, she slammed the door closed, making her adoptive brother flinch, and pulling him out of his own nostalgic thoughts.

"Let's just find Laura, figure out what she came here for, and get out of here. Okay?" Her voice rang quietly through the already silent forest, while she looked at the house, a bit resistant to go inside. Derek didn't look at her, just nodded.

"Yeah," the older werewolf agreed. Both Aurora and Derek entered the abandoned house, the redhead's laptop style bag resting on her left shoulder with both her hand fiddling with the straps as she took in the sight before her eyes.

She looked up and down, taking in the whole house. It seemed old and abandoned, a contrast to how she'd seen it only mere hours before the tragic events that took place years ago.
