CHAPTER FIVE: hurry out the door.
───────────────────

minho never enjoyed waking up so early.

perhaps it was the birds singing that made him become irritated, or maybe it was that he had to cook breakfast for minjun and himself.

however, today he was actually looking forward to the day as it was minjun's first day of grade two, and it was minho's first day at elementary school─for a reason that you'll find out later, of course.

when his alarm rang, he practically jumped out of bed, in contrast to when it's any other day.

he rushed to his closet with a huge grin, already knowing what he'd wear.

he'd been thinking about it since last night.

he was excited, to say the least.

yet to his dismay, his smile soon disappeared when he opened the closet, his enthusiasm killed almost immediately.

he saw huge mounts of clothes on the floor of his closet, not a single memory in his mind telling him when he did that, or if he even did it.

he furrowed his eyebrows and raked through all the possibilities on how this could've happened, still not finding anything that would explain it.

he hadn't had alcohol in years, so he couldn't have been drunk and done that.

no one that came to his house ever entered his room──actually, minjun did go to his room, quite recently too..

he soon realised that minjun had checked his closet a few days ago.

he clearly remembered the child saying that he couldn't find his drawing and that maybe it got blown into the closet, even though minjun never really stepped foot into minho's room.

and minho was dumb enough to fall into his trap to slow them both down from leaving the house to school.

that little rascal.

minho groaned in annoyance, throwing clothes all over the place to find his button-up shirt and black trousers.

jackets, pants, hats, shirts─almost everything went flying around as minho threw them all over the place, grumbling profanities under his breath.

to be honest, it felt like a mini jisung was living in his house instead of a mini minho.

almost like minjun and jisung were brothers.

the level of mischief was out of the roof, and the day was already a mess.

he'd get back at minjun one day, but for now, they needed to get to school.

he quickly dressed up, running over to the washroom and brushing his teeth.

while doing so, he parted his hair with a comb, trying to look as good as possible.

after all of this was done, he scurried over to minjun's room.

and minho honestly felt like a proud mother─aside from the slight annoyance─when he towered over his brothers bed, watching minjun snore softly while hugging his favourite plushie.

it felt as though it was just yesterday when minjun was a small baby, curling his finger around their mom's.
now, minho had to deal with waking the soon-to-be student up, who was also the deepest sleeper he came across.

he began by poking his puffy cheeks as he called out his name, yet minjun didn't move a single limb.

trying a new tactic, he shook his younger brothers body while saying, "minjun, it's the first day of school, wake up!"
