CHAPTER SIX: greetings are embarassing.
───────────────────

a certain blondie had a knack for embarrassing himself.

"hello."

and of course that blondie was jisung.

jisung doesn't know why or how he blurted that out to minho.

perhaps it was that he was starting to get uneasy under the piercing gaze of minho, or maybe it was his kind reflexes showing up at the wrong time.

in contrast to the dumb, mindless blinking that he and minho were exchanging with each other after he spoke, his face becomes uncomfortably warm when the realisation finally hits him. he looks to the side, a grimace overtaking his features, the shame causing his ears to become red.

to be honest, it looked like he was about to explode into pieces.

minho opened his mouth to say something insulting along the lines of that──but, surprisingly, he decided against it.

maybe it was the fact that he was too happy to ruin his mood, or perhaps it was that he didn't find a point in all of that.

instead he ignores jisung and looks at the elevator doors, minding his own business as if jisung wasn't there.

it remains quiet afterwards, although jisung still waits for some sort of a witty remark to come flying towards his way, punching his self-esteem in the process.

and he looks back at minho when he feels like it's been silent for too long, narrowing his eyes skeptically.

something was off about him today.

minho looked way too relaxed and calm, unlike his usual grumpy, annoyed expression.

it kind of bothered him.

while jisung glances at minho a few times, the silence─weirdly enough─is almost deafening and he feels his ears ring at the quietness.

he'd like to believe that it's better than listening to minho speak, but it was getting unbearable.

as the younger male tries to not focus on the buzzing in his ears, soon enough a small 'ding!' is heard and the elevator doors open, reviving his hearing.

he hastily gets in first, not wanting to be there for even a second more when the other two follow behind him.

he decided to bury himself in his own world, thinking about random things like what he'd eat today─even though he literally made his own lunch and knew what it was, obviously.

his thoughts drifted around and suddenly a thought came to him that had him mentally banging his head on a wall.

this─whatever it was─would probably happen even more now that they lived beside each other.

jisung hoped that the elevator would stop and fall so that he'd die right now.

he glances at minho for a second before he shakes the thoughts off incase he jinxes it, turning away with a deep sigh and reaching for the numbers,

not noticing that minho also reaches for the numbers.

a loud high-pitched scream is heard, making minjun smack his hands against his ears before he could even register who or what did it.
