"The truth of the matter is that everything can be explained and nothing that you read in Twilight or The Vampire Diaries can be true." At least that's what I told my friend Alice as she ranted at the revelations that I had not read or watched either of the things she had believed in with heart and soul. At this moment, I made my own revelation, she would be put into an asylum at any rate now. I loved my friend so much, but she has always been a little different, but never could I have predicted that everything she believed in was real, and that we would be living in it.

It was the first day after Christmas break and everyone was showing off new cars, phones, and relationships, but I didn't fit in with these people. I was friends with the craziest people in the school, and they ranted about books, anime, and showing there new buttons from Hot Topic.
"Boo!" My train of thought was demolished as my "adopted sister" shocked me back to reality or at least what I had believed it to be.
"Look at all my new pins!" Screamed my overly excited friend.
"I see. Soul Eater reference, nice."
"Show a little bit more enthusiasm Mary."
"Okay, I'll try, but no promises."
"We better get going to class we don't want to be late for the first day of AP."
To some people it seemed crazy to take this college course while we were still freshman, but having college credit as a freshman is impressive to people. I personally was extremely excited but tried not to show it. I simply walked through the hallway to my locker and bent down to open it. For the first time in my life I had a bottom locker, and of course with my luck as I stood up the locker above mine was open, and I slammed the top of my head into it causing so much humiliation that I didn't even realize the pain and then I heard it. A loud, familiar donkey laugh came from behind me, and instantly my face got hotter. I turned to see exactly who I had expected it to be.
"Hello Nathan."
"Hahahahaha, are you okay," he managed to question as he laughed so hard I thought he would hyperventilate from the snorting.
"I'm just fine, thank you."
He was cute and all but that just wasn't what I cared about, my love belonged to one thing that had captured all my attention and consumed my life, my grades. Then of all the times for Alice to show up from no where, she ran panicked wondering if I had finally gotten that third concussion I wanted to get over with.
"Quick, go get ice, a nurse, a medic, someone, run!"
With that Nathan had sprinted off until he was out of sight.
"I'm fine actually I think I'll manage okay."
"I know. You looked like you wanted him to go and now look he's gone."
"You really are a great friend."
"I know. We should probably get going if you don't want to be late."
We finally got up from the floor where the locker had pushed me and ran up three flights of stairs to the one class I never believed I would appreciate as much as I do.
"Hello class, I'm Mr.Brown and this is AP Human Geography. The work you were assigned to turn in today has been moved to an extended due date, this Friday."
"Wow, not doing it really seemed to be a good call, considering I didn't have to waste my break." Yelled my friend Holden from the back of the room. With this comment I knew he had done the work; he always had a way of using sarcasm as an elaborate rebellion that never meant a thing and made teachers laugh. Which made what Mr.Brown said that much better.
He interrupted the laughter by saying, "So you're gonna be that kid. The one who laughs at his own jokes and is a know it all. Please don't be that kid, this is a college course and expect you to behave maturely."

After an hour and a half of this back and forth the bell finally rang, and we left one of the most important classes of our lives. As the teachers say, math is something we'll use every day of our lives, but of course I just waited for that one kid that always stuck there hand up and blurted out, "How exactly will the ability to add matrices help me in everyday life?"
At this point an hour long argument would commence, so I took this "break" as an opportunity to look out the window and daydream about my new engineering class.
