     Mathew's POV
(Before School)

I can't believe that my foolish caretakers would move me so far away from my true home, Washington was perfect for my kind. Instead they believed that moving somewhere with minuscule blood suckers that create the most irritating noise, also referred to as the mosquitoes, and a constant heat problem. Not to mention the miles and miles of swamp land. Where I would be living was past most of the population, so I would have my privacy, but I also  don't think that this punishment is suitable for simply sampling some tourists. I'm a vampire, these acts are to be expected. I'm stuck going through school even as a soon to be immortal murderer. I can't be a full a vampire until I kill someone and I will age until I do so because this is how I was born I was not created, so I am given a choice.
"We're here!" The creature that fills the role as my "father" so rudely interrupted my thoughts as he yelled. Then the other one decided to join in as well.
"Oh, this will be so fun, so many new friends to be made and-"
     "Can you just shut up!"
It's not like they were bad people they were just so eager and cheery all of the time I believe that quiet and timid are always the best qualities. They weren't my real parents either, I was to stay with these people until I kill someone and take on my role as a vampire. My real parents wouldn't claim me until I did so and these people are paid to be my guardians until the time comes for that, but first I want to do things with my life.
     "Mathew?"
     "What do you want?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to go and visit the neighbors with us, they are supposed to be really nice and they have children about your age."
"You really want me to go on a play date? I'm going to become an all powerful being for crying out loud."
"Well, okay, if you need us we'll be up the road."
"I doubt I'll need anything, I'll just unpack some things."
     "Bye."
     "Bye."
Although we lived in a house between two neighborhoods it was actually quite private and I was grateful for that. The house was a two story plus an attic room which is where I would be staying. As I made my way up to my room I began to think of what this new school would be like. I of course would have higher level classes and very few people would be in all of them with me. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I ran out of stairs to walk up and came upon my door. It was simple actually, blue walls, hardwood floors and shelves of books with lots of packed boxes, and seeing as I would need to wear clothes I began unpacking them and stopped when I was done. I set my bed and laid  there with the music on, then drifted off into a peaceful sleep once "Black Parade" came on.

**at school**

As I was rushed into crowded halls and escorted through all of the buildings by an overly perky person of authority as the other students scurried to their classes, I heard a loud thump. When I turned the corner I saw someone sitting on the floor rubbing their head while another simply laughed which sounded extremely donkey like.
As I watched the scene another person had joined in. They were extremely loud except for the one still sitting on the floor now being hugged rather tightly by her loud and obnoxious friend, so I decided to eavesdrop.
"Quick, go get ice, a nurse, a medic, someone, run!" The loud one screamed to donkey boy and that's when I sensed it. There was a mutt in this town and not just any mutt but one that was a bloodline heir like myself but not a vampire, no, they are definitely a silver wolf. A higher ranking and based on the lack of a stronger stench they were not a shifter yet.
"Mr. Sinclair?"
"Yes?"
"Let's continue with the tour. Here is your schedule and a map of the grounds. You will start in your second period, which is math and I will personally escort you until until you get things straightened out."
"That won't be necessary Ms. Smith, I just need this map labeled with my courses and that will be fine."
She then took my paper and scribbled on certain rooms then signed the bottom with an excuse for tardiness in case I got lost and couldn't make it in time. When she turned back to me after using the wall as a table she began to open her mouth to let her irritating voice ring through my ears again.
"This should be it but if you get lost don't hesitate to come to me and now that all of this is settled I'll walk you to second period."
"That would be great. Thank you."
Finally, I could get to class and away from this woman. And as I walked down the hall I noticed the scent of that mutt get stronger as I made my way to my new math class.
