They hadn't even made it down the driveway before Clark spoke up. "So, how long have you two been fucking?"
Max jolted in her seat, surprised at the bluntness. Caelum sighed beside her, raking his hand through his hair.
"Technically, we haven't fucked yet." He glanced at her, mischief in his eyes.
She elbowed him in the side before he could make the situation worse, but he ignored her. "But, she did ride my face until she creamed all over it last night."
Max screeched in embarrassment. "Caelum! Shut your damn mouth," she ordered, covering her face with her hands. She could feel the blush climbing her cheeks. Meanwhile, Clark hadn't said a word.
She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye to see a contemplative look on his face. It wasn't exactly the reaction she was expecting.
Caelum took his silence as encouragement. "That's not even the best part, brother. The other night while we were watching that movie," he started to explain until Max's hand slapped over his mouth. "You say another word, and you'll never touch me again."
She glanced at Clark to see his lips lift in a small smile.
Caelum licked her hand and shook his head loose. "We both know that's a lie. As a matter of fact, you'll be begging me to touch you before this day is over."
She wiped her wet hand on his shirt, much like he had done to her. "Try me," she challenged.
Clark let out a chuckle at their bickering, and she relaxed back in her seat. The further they got from the cabin, the more at ease she felt. She hadn't realized how tense she was with Liam taking over her space. Not only that, Clark officially knew about her and Caelum, and he hadn't blown a gasket.
She took a minute to study him, noting his hand on the wheel, the black leather band of his watch reflecting the light as his fingers tapped out the beat of the song on the radio. She followed the length of his strong forearm to his bicep straining against his t-shirt. Her gaze caught the bottom of a tattoo that was on his bicep, the one she had seen dozens of times but hadn't been able to read yet. Anytime she tried, he would catch her and quickly pull his sleeve down.
He shot her a quick glance, his eyebrow raising in question at her stare. She shook her head at him and focused on the road in front of her.
The route to town had become one of her favorite drives over the past couple of months. The slow descent from the top of the mountain leads down winding roads with plenty of lookout spots to stop and enjoy the views. The road curves much like a hatchback until the flatness of the valley takes over. The sign welcoming visitors to town was currently decorated for Christmas, with hanging garland and giant red bows tacked at the top of each dip of the greenery.
"We should decorate for Christmas!" Max exclaimed, louder than the enclosed space of the truck warranted.
The brothers stared at her in silence from each side. Caelum rubbed a hand down his scruff, trying to hide his smile.
He looked over at Clark. "What do you say, brother? Wanna decorate this year?"
"Do you two usually not decorate?" she asked, her eyes catching on Caelum's lips where he was rubbing them with his thumb.
He caught her and winked, licking them salaciously. She rolled her eyes and elbowed him in the side. His smile dropped as he quickly glanced at Clark. "Not usually, no."
"Not even a tree?"
He shook his head, his eyes filled with an emotion she couldn't name. "Not even a tree."
