8: Bitter reunions

                My arrival in men's world was a shock. A mysterious black force, invisible to mortal eyes, began to spread over the planet gradually smothering every spark of life. And my intuition was telling me that Diana was in danger because of this dark phenomenon.

I chose the simplest and fastest solution to find her : the power given to me by Artemis. While still in the air, I focused on the souls of the creatures that lived in this world. I knew Diana's heart but I didn't know if I would be able to recognize it after so many years of separation; but it was the only solution and the most effective given the situation.

I closed my eyes and billions of living souls appeared, each with their characteristic light. The more I probed, the more I felt their evils : sadness, suffering, despair, selfishness, greed.

Why did my sister leave to save this world? Was there anything good left to save in them ? I felt like Diana had sacrificed herself for them in vain; men's world did not deserve my sister.

And then I saw some notes of hope; love, joy, friendship, gentleness; but all this was beginning to be smothered by the mysterious evil that was spreading in the hearts of men : 'All were not killed but all were sick'.

I was looking towards the source of the plague: America, far beyond the Great Sea. As I headed west ; I felt an invisible presence; I knew it was Diana...well what was left of my sister . Her heart was also beginning to be changed by this mysterious evil and she was full of the sadness of someone who had sacrificed too much and given too much.

I couldn't help but ache for her in my heart : "O Diana! What happened to you ?"

               While they were both over the Atlantic ; in the plane they had temporarily "stolen"; Steve noticed that Diana suddenly seemed disturbed.

-What's wrong ? Looks like you saw a ghost!

-Didn't you hear a voice?

-No... there are only two of us on this plane and the radio isn't even on

-Steeve I assure you I heard a voice. Someone said « Diana what happened to you? »

Steve smiled at her and squeezed her hand. "Even though I didn't hear it; it's possible; with you extraordinary things become possible !"

She gaves him a soft smile and turned to the cockpit window. That voice reminded her of someone. Someone she had forgotten about because of the distance ; because of the years gone by; because of this impossibility of returning home.

Kataïlyda meanwhile,followed them at a good distance so as not to be seen. She was thinking about the conversation she had just overheard between the two occupants of the invisible plane.

Steve? Who is this Steve? We are almost a century later; the man Steeve Trevor should be dead or he should be a century old man. It is impossible for a human. In addition, his soul seems split in two as if there were two people in the same body.

The young princess began to follow her sister from afar. She didn't need to push the pace; compared to her, they moved much more slowly. She took the opportunity to eat and think about her plan for the next few hours. Certainly she had found her sister but she was not in her normal state and for the moment she did not know what this evil was or how to fight it.

They landed in Egypt and it was there that she discovered the true source of evil. A human, a man called Maxwell Lord but he no longer had a human soul, it was inhabited by another being whom she immediately recognized. Stunned she whispered the entity's name "Dolos".
