Chapter 5: Invasion of the Dead

Y/N and the rest of the students continued to help with the injured oni. Shiki was helping Mei deal with the loss of her parents. The boy was suddenly startled when he felt something off. he turned to head to the other room, when Kyouya yelled to avoid all the people in the area to stay away from the dead bodies. Just then, the bodies started moving and attacking the oni. Y/N pulled out a stuffed shark he named Chin, which meant nine in Vietnamese. He bit on his finger and let the blood run into the stuffed animal. The animal came to life, "Hey, hey. What are we doing here? It's time to get some fighting going on." Y/N deadpanned at the animal, "Uh. I forgot that you were this annoying. I really shouldn't have made you while watching gangster movies. Now, go take care of those undead bodies." Chin looked at the attacking corpses, "Whoa. Zombie oni? Awesome. Let's get fighting." The shark opened its mouth and revealed chainsaw teeth. The teeth began revving. Chin jumped at the corpses and started tearing them apart. Y/N helped the other oni escape. His fellow classmates were shocked to see how the stuffed animal was so violent. Y/N said, "You heard the doctor. We need to get out of here. I'm sure that the person who's controlling these corpses is using them to find this place. I'm sure that they'll be here in a little bit." They looked at him and continued to run away. Shiki was also fighting the corpses by shooting them with a real gun. 'Makes sense. He can't control his blood, so he needs to use a real weapon.' thought Y/N.

Once all the corpses were defeated, the students calmed down. Kyouya said, "The patients were transferred to another space. You were all a really big help here." Y/N looked at the corpses that Chin had destroyed. He began stretching the stuffed animal in anger, "You dumb shark. I wanted you to tear off the heads to stop them. These people need to be buried and I doubt their love ones would be happy to bury them in pieces." Chin was about to argue, but he flopped. It seemed that he had run out of blood. Y/N sighed and put Chin back in the bag with the other stuffed animals. When he turned back, he saw Shiki hugging Mei. Once the girl calmed down, he let her go and she was taken away. Y/N walked to the black haired boy. He asked, "Is this how the world works? Where a little girl who never did anything wrong has to suffer like this? Is this what it is to be the bad guy?" Y/N was surprised to hear him speak like this. He assumed that the boy was just an air-head who never really thought much about anything, but it seemed that he was wrong. Shiki continued, "Then this time, the bad guys will win and defeat the heroes. I'll make sure no oni has to suffer like this again." Y/N decided to speak up, "What makes you think that the humans are good?" Shiki was surprised by the question. Y/N continued, "Humans kill, steal, hurt, rape, attack, and torture each other, not out of the need to survive, but out of selfishness. Humans will do whatever they want to make sure that they are satisfied. That sounds more like the villains from television and comic books. Sure, humans try to paint themselves as good, that the heroes will always win. However, there are no real heroes in this world. There are only those who win and those who lose. They are only viewed as heroes by those who benefit from their existence. Like the Momotaro. They say that they're the heroes, but they'll treat their own kind like trash and use them for their own benefit. So, it doesn't matter what position we're in. We're all the villains in one story or another." Shiki stared at him in complete shock. He had expected the other boy to tell him to get a reality check or that he didn't care. He hadn't expected a speech about something so deep. He smiled and threw an arm over Y/N, "You know L/N, you're a good guy. Glad to know that I'm friends with such a great person." Y/N deadpanned. He had just meant to explain the truth about the world, not come off as a friend. Still, looking at the smiling oni, he accepted it and motioned for them to leave.
