These "Universes" are essentially the different realities that my characters may exist in. Characters are even able to move between Universes through portals. It's a one way in, one way out kind of situation. All of these Universes have people who control them, but I'll get into that in a later chapter. I'm not gonna go horribly in-depth on them here since some of these have entire stories attached to them, but it can never hurt to have some background information!

Emotional
Emotional is essentially a middle ground between all the other Universes; it's a white void with all the other Universes' portals within. The Gods that occasionally occupy this space are referred to as Emotes and Emites. The nine Emotes are interconnected. Their actions impact the "mood" of their overall system depending on their personal strength and current emotion. They are all named after the mood that they are able to contribute to the system or the concept they portray. The five Emites of the system do not have as much overall impact, however. Their main purpose is to help regulate the Emotes and keep the overall mood at a balance. Characters other than the Emotes and Emites may travel through this world, but only very few have, and it does not come without its punishments. There is usually conflict between the Emotes due to their different ideologies. Although they are ultimately part of the same being, each one has a different motive for it. This has led to some extreme measures to be taken, including the corruption and killing of some Emotes and the corresponding backlash.
LOB
This is a discontinued Universe that was only used by the Gods of Emotional. It was a world where the Gods could create anything they wanted and go anywhere they desired. Of course, some took this to their advantage to isolate rival Emotes and harm them, so it was not enjoyed by everyone. This Universe was discarded of when the Emotes and Emites received their own personal Universes.Imagine
The world of Imagine seems to have progressed in a similar way to the Earth that you and I know. However, one major factor has altered this world in unprecedented ways: the existence of the Inagura family. Early on in this family's history--before it was even under the name Inagura--the founding question was asked: How similar are animals to humans? For generations, this family of researchers has sought a answer to this question. However, with the language barrier between humans and animals, it is difficult to find answers. In the early 1900s, a solution was developed for this. Essentially, human DNA was plugged into a virus-like structure and injected into an animal. This essentially rewrites the animal's genetic code and makes them more human-like. These changes are more or less severe based on how much human DNA was injected. Nevertheless, this has led to the creation of the Inagura Foundation, a company who's sole purpose revolves around this founding question. The newfound humanity in Inagura subjects allows them to be taught language and be able to communicate answers more clearly. Their reactions to experiences can also be measured on a more familiar scale.
Although the founding question is definitely important to the Foundation, there are some different branches of study that have appeared. For example, the Cybornetics Branch has posed another question: What effect would a total utility of technology have on elements of a person's life? These people are essentially making cyborgs. Certain bones and tissues are replaced with artificial counterparts. Subjects' brains may also be implemented with access to certain databases. For easier studies, cameras are often implemented into these subjects as well. Since this sect is relatively recent, not many discoveries have been made. However, it is unanimous that a subject's access to information within their mental databases should be limited.
