Chapter 6

"Come with me, Lime." Purple pleaded, holding his hand out for the other. Lime took a step back. "I don't know, dawg, there's still someone out there trying to kill us. I don't feel safe right now. I don't know who I can trust."

Purple looked at Lime with puppy eyes, even though he knew the other male couldn't see through their visors. Their stupid visors! Purple hated their suits, their helmets, their visors, everything! They kept him from seeing Lime's face. "Please?"

Lime hesitated for a moment before stepping forward and placing his gloved hand in Purple's own. "Alright, just...promise me I can trust you."

Purple gave a serious nod and happily took Lime's hand, walking swiftly through the hallways of the Skeld. Eventually, they ended up in Electrical. Purple turned into the room and guided Lime around the wall to the other side. Now the two men were alone.

"Purple, w-why did you bring me here?"

The other finally let go of Lime's hand and turned around to face him. "Lime, I have something I've been meaning to tell you."

Lime tensed up almost immediately, backing up, prepared to run or fight if needed. "Oh my god, a-are you the imposter? Fuck, I knew I shouldn't have followed you in here alone!" He was sweating now, although Purple couldn't tell. Even so, he could still see the apprehension in his tense body language.

He immediately threw up his gloved hands in surrender. "No, goodness, no! I'm not the imposter, I promise!" he said with a jab of guilt for lying to Lime, as well as a small pang of hurt that Lime still doesn't fully trust him, but he couldn't blame Lime at the same time. He assured the man across from him that he was not in any danger. Because Lime truly wasn't, for now, unless...unless Red got him. He might have to take him out to guarantee Lime's safety if the red astronaut refused to back off.

"I just..." his deep voice trailed off. It was clear he was feeling nervous. "I brought you here because I need to get something off my mind."

Lime sighed, shaking his head of unwanted thoughts and taking a few steps forward again, somewhat calmer than before. "Well, what is it, dawg?"

Purple took several deep breaths. "Well, I think I..." Lime remained silent as Purple planned out his words. At last, Purple looked up from inside his helmet and took another breath. Lime nodded, encouraging him onwards.

"I...I like you, Lime."

Lime's heart lurched for a second, but he kept his cool at first. Actually, he laughed. "Oh! Haha, good one, dawg. I like you too."

"No!" Purple hastily corrected him, "I like-like you. I...I love you, Lime."

Now Lime was confused. How could Purple feel this way towards anyone, let alone him? This just came out of nowhere, although it did explain his actions when he asked about his mask, and it most certainly explained Purple's clinginess towards the light-green astronaut and all the personal questions he attempted.

"But how? How can you like me? You may know my personality, but you still don't know me. This wouldn't work. We're not supposed to be together; we're supposed to be completing a mission. There's no room for relationships on the Skeld, even if I did happen to like you back, which is an even longer shot that you just chose to take! Why, Purple? Why do you feel this way, and towards me of all people?? I'm not good for you!" Eddie cried, choking back his sudden anger from all the confusing thoughts and feelings.

"Do I really need to know you, Lime?" Purple started. "I know most of your habits, I know your personality, and I know who you are right now. You're Lime. You act as if no one is watching, and you're an amazing captain. I doubt you'd change much if you were back on Earth. So I feel like I've already known you for years. I truly feel this way, Lime. And I like it this way. I enjoy when you speak Spanish, and love the stupid shit you say when you do! That's right, I can speak Spanish too, pendejo!"
