Warnings: swearing, a tad bit of violence

-----

The men woke up to their alarms at 6:50 am. "Uuugh." Purple groaned. Lime turned over and rolled off the bed with a loud 'thunk'. Purple was startled at first, but as he leaned over the rails of the top bunk, he saw Lime on the floor and burst into a laughing fit. "Hahaha!"

"Shut up, fool. I'm still tired," Lime grumbled, rubbing his eye and reaching under the bunk for his bag. Success was guaranteed and swift. The man pulled out the large black back and rifled through his belongings for his toiletries. Then he grabbed his spacesuit from inside his locker and walked toward the bathroom.

Purple followed suit and soon had his toiletries and suit in hand. Once Lime relieved the bathroom of his presence, Purple strode in past Lime and closed the door. Although Lime had locked the door when he went in, Purple did not. 'Hm? Maybe he forgot?' Lime thought to himself. Whatever the case, he was not planning on barging in. You just don't do that to a friend(or acquaintance), much less a coworker. Lime shook away his thoughts and sat on the edge of his bed with the picture of his sons in hand. When Purple came out, Lime swiftly and carefully stuffed the picture back into its respectable pocket and stood up.

"What's that?" Purple asked him. "Oh, nothing. Don't worry about it." Lime held up his tablet, which was displaying his taskbar. "Ready to start on today's tasks?"

"Ready as I'll ever be."

------

A couple of weeks have passed since Purple asked Lime to take off his mask. Neither of them had brought it up since then, even though Purple yearned to do so. He really, truly wanted to see underneath the other's helmet. But that would have to wait for later. Right now, the two were working on tasks.

Some good news, though. Over the past 4 weeks, Purple learned more about Lime and vice versa. Purple used to be in the army. He doesn't have any pets at home, and, contrary to his suit color, actually prefers the color green. 'Huh. Interesting.' Lime thought. Lime learned a lot about Purple, but the purple astronaut also learned a thing or two about his coworker. Lime loved his cats Visco and Chopo back at home. He loves his kids dearly and favors the color green. It figures since he was wearing a lime-green space suit. Purple discovered more about Lime's personality in those few, precious days, but no matter how hard he tried and begged, he could not get Lime to tell him more about his family. "I can't tell you that, and you know it. It's for the safety of me, and my family. Besides, you have no reason or need to know that." Those words tugged at the man, who was already somewhat irritated and tired from all the work done that day.

Purple huffed. He felt like he wasn't truly getting anywhere with Lime. 'This is bullshit,' he groaned.

"Well, that's another good day, Purple," Lime said after his 8 o'clock alarm went off. "Ready to go to bed, dawg?" he asked his partner.

"Yeah...I think so..." Purple paused to yawn. "Lemme just grab a snack from the pantry first," he said as he made his way to the cafeteria. When he got there, he strode over to the pantry. But, before he could get there, he ran into Red. "Oh, hey Red," he greeted the other astronaut. "Hey, Purple."

Purple continued his trek over to the pantry and, deciding against solid food, turned towards the fridge. He opened the upper right door of the thing, which stood a surprising 5 feet and, according to the manufacturers, was the top of the line in quality. The machine probably adorned a sleek silver color before it was purchased, but now that it was on the Skeld, it expressed a gorgeous sky-blue shade. The buyers probably requested it be changed to fit the style of the rest of the ship. Figures. But, Purple would be lying if he said that he didn't like the sky-blue. He just wished that there were other colors on the ship, as well; like a tan, or warm yellow. Maybe even an orange space here and there. But no.
