Allison, Vanya, and I split from the boys in the hallway. Going into our room. Allison opened the door for us with the key to show us the....absolutely disgusting room. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't have mold, or blood on the walls but still, the design is just ugh.
There were two beds pressed against the wall on the other side of the room and one that was facing the door. At least it has a window.
"It's not too small. It's definitely ugly." Vanya stated when we closed the door. I walked towards the bed that was facing the door.
"Why is everything so disgustingly pink?" I asked silently, glaring at the pink bed sheets that didn't fit in the whole design of the room. Not that anything in here fits. All three of us took our beds, we laid down. I let out a content sigh when my back finally touched something soft after a long time. The back of my head still hurt but I didn't want to ask Allison for help since she was pretty cranky since we met the Sparrows. And I don't want to bother Vanya, she looks exhausted.
"Last night, I was sleeping in my own bed next to my amazing husband," Allison said sadly.
"I kissed Sissy goodbye a few hours ago. Give or take 50 years." Vanya added. Both of them then glanced at me, expecting me to say something as well.
"A day ago I thought I knew who I was...now I am back to being no one." I mumbled the last part. I am not even sure the two of them heard me. Or if they cared.
"I'm glad you finally found somebody that treated you right."
"She saw me for who I really am. I'm not ready to give that up." I don't want to say to Vanya that what she had with Sissy was maybe beautiful but it wasn't meant to last. We wouldn't be able to fit there. It took time for me to understand that before as well. But once you accept it you find peace...a hurtful peace but at least you understand you were not supposed to live that life.
"I feel the same about Ray." Allison sighed. "We better not have left them just to die in some superhero turf war." From the look of things, Allison is not going to let go of her memories easily. She lost someone she loved. Considering she and her husband in our original timeline were already broken up and had a hard relationship the life she had with Ray was like a dream. All of us seemed to live particularly happy in a different timeline. Maybe it's that we were supposed to be born some other time...or we never really belonged in any timeline.
"You need to go home. Hug your daughter." Vanya said and I nodded.
"Yeah, I mean, you already spent a long enough time away from her. She must miss you like crazy." I said with a soft smile. It is hard pretending to be nice when I feel so out of place in between these two. It's like we have some unspoken tension between each other.
"What if Diego's right and the Sparrows attack?" I scoffed at Allison's worries. I am so fed up with those black parrots.
"We fought the entire Commission. I mean, we can handle, what? Eight jerks in uniforms? They just caught us off guard."
"Actually I think there's just seven of them in uniforms. The cube is going nude from what I saw." How even do they have a cube as a member of the group? Was it even born to someone? Like did someone just give birth to a cube? Or was it a baby before that got transformed into a cube after being born? Vanya chuckled a little at my statement. It made me feel a little better.
"Yeah."
"You should go to the airport. And get back to your real life. I would if I could." After Vanya said that Allison stood up and the two hugged.
