What do you fight against?

Reverie's boots collided with the metal platform with an aura of red energy nursting from his landing. His hands came up to twist the threads of chaos that plagued the abandoned structure. He twisted them all into a thick rope that cackled with lightning all around it, shooting out like an arrow with a long tail to strike Reverie's opponent. Instead of hitting, a figure whose skin was made of a diamond-like structure slid in front of the person Reverie was aiming for. The new man tanked the damage and leaned down when it had dwindled. The real enemy behind him lifted his finger to draw a pattern in the air. The pattern was inked with glowing black energy with a white trim. Before Reverie could react, the symbol began to glow red like metal over a fire. It exploded into a sweltering wave of fire that coiled like a tunnel as it shot towards Reverie. The sidekick quickly condensed the chaos in front of him, but he would have been severely injured had it not been for Dream yanking on the wire around Reveri's neck.

Right as the fire died down, the diamond skinned enemy called Adamas came bursting forth with his fist and elbow tucked behind him for extra leverage. Dream's fingers shot out with green lines that wrapped around Adamas' fist. Dream swerved his body around to use Adamas' momentum against him. The diamond villain was thrown towards Reverie without the coordination to dodge the chaos enhanced punch that Reverie launched right at the man's jaw. It probably did little to hurt him, but it was enough force to send him hurtling towards the core support beam of the abandoned Eiffel Tower. Once Adamas hit his back against the metal, he slid down. Reverie winced as he heard the sound of Adamas' body hitting every platform on his way to the ground. He would still be alive, but he was currently out of the fight.

Not that the odds were any better with him gone. Halo is still a formidable enemy. He drew two quick symbols in the air that manifested as swirling portals that led to what Reverie could see as a really huge tree. Two birds made from glass shot out of the portals, squawking loudly as they attempted to peck Dream's eyes out. The hero merely shot back. Reverie threw his hand down. Cracks of red appeared on one bird. The cracks expanded until the bird exploded. The other one was wrapped tightly in strings of green. Dream threw the bird forwards to attack Halo instead. Halo remained emotionless as he dodged the bird's attack. Halo shot forwards on the balls of his feet with enough force that wind whipped around him that crumpled some of the supports. Reverie closed his fists tightly to stabilize as much chaos as he could handle to stop the whole tower from toppling on top of them. Halo didn't stop until his fist collided with Dream's stomach. The hero coughed up spit with a tinge of blood as he was shot backwards. Reverie didn't have time to react as Dream landed in his arms with enough  force to send them both tumble back. Dream latched onto Reverie's back as the sidekick grabbed onto the platform they had been standing on. The problem is that without chaos, the supports were starting to fall apart. Even worse, Halo was approaching with languid steps.

"When I tell you to, let go and prepare to walk on air," Dream said quietly. He released one hand from Reverie's back to throw a tight, thick string around the platform grated floor. The string threaded in the grates with a firm hold that would hopefully slow their descent. Halo was a few feet away from them. Reverie felt his arm straining against gravity. He bit his lip as he waited for the signal, his patience wearing thin. Thankfully, Dream shouted at Reverie to 'go'. Reverie let go of the railing. His body plummeted down with Dream's added weight. They twisted around with Dream now above Reverie as the boy channeled the sparks of chaos that were born from the crumbling tower to wrap around his body to slow his descent and protect him from the hit on the ground. Dream yanked down on the string to snap the platform, the side they were on lowering while the other side raised upwards like it was a seesaw. Halo didn't have time to get a grip. He slipped on himself, sliding down the platform ground until he was free falling.
