TW: Guns and Daggers (duh), Torture, Violence. Traces of manipulation (if you squint).
A loud bang resonated through the warehouse as someone kicked the door open."Here she is, Ma'am," the female guard said, holding the door open as a girl in her twenties walked in.
"You may leave now," she said, and the guard left, slamming the door close behind her.
That part of the warehouse was a huge storage room, devoid of windows. Huge lights hung on the ceiling, glowing all across the vast room. It was almost empty except for a single chair that sat in the middle with an unconscious girl tied to it. The hair that had escaped her loose ponytail hung around her downcast face filled with scars, most of them being fresh and bloody. In fact, her whole body had signs of violence, with ripped clothes and bloody wounds gracing it.
The so-called 'Ma'am' went towards the tied girl and shook her roughly by her shoulder.
"Wake up, Ann," she continued shaking her.
No response.
"Wake up!" she shouted, slapping Ann straight across her face.
Ann's eyes fluttered open but she closed them immediately, groaning.
"What the- Sofia?" Ann opened her eyes again, slowly this time, adjusting to the brightness.
"Ann," Sofia said, taking a step back and observing Ann with a blank face.
Suddenly, Ann's eyes flew open as her neck snapped up. Her eyes started to water and she started trembling.
"L-Look, Sofia-" she stuttered, getting interrupted by Sofia.
"Stop."
Ann was breathing hard and she was sweating like crazy despite the room being chilly.
"B-But I need to explain first-"
"There's nothing left to explain, Ann," her voice was filled with venom as her eyes narrowed. "You betrayed your gang. You betrayed me-"
"They would've killed me!"
"So you snitched on us? On your own gang? On your own sister?" Sofia stepped closer to her as she cowered back as much as her tied state allowed her to. "Death over disloyalty. Rings something?"
Sofia grabbed the chair's arms.
"Speak!" she spat as Ann's tears started dropping.
"I know! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to-" Ann yelled, closing her eyes.
"Didn't mean to what? Run to the rivals? Snitch on us? Flee the country?" she scoffed.
"I-I-" Ann was a stuttering mess and Sofia's anger wasn't helping matters.
"You're a traitor!" Sofia yelled, shaking her chair as Ann's sobs echoed across the room.
"Stop!" she yelled.
Sofia stopped, surprised by her own actions. She cursed under her breath, moving back a step. She'd always had a soft spot for Ann. After all, Ann was her younger sister. She loved her sister more than anything, but there were some rules she needed to go by. Operating a female mafia gang in a male-dominated community was already hard for her, especially the part where she had to resist snapping a few misogynistic necks, mostly during her undercover duties, but she tried her best.
Ann was a different case. She was more on the rebellious side, her adorable smile getting her out of trouble easily. And Sofia had willingly let her off the hook quite a few times. This time though, she had gotten herself into something where even Sofia couldn't help her. She betrayed the gang by running to the rival gang and snitching on her sister, fleeing the country afterward.
