The two friends had spent the entire rest of the day at the park getting high off of the weed that star had stuffed in her backpack

"I've missed this star" Archie told star taking a hit from the blunt star had rolled "me too arch you've been so busy with track and you're grades to make sure you stay in track" Star gave Archie a small smile

Vance, Archie, and star had been friends, they had been the greatest trio or at least that's what people had told them, Vance was the complete aggressive one, star was the one who was only aggressive when she needed to be and Archie was never aggressive he coward behind Vance and star but all of that changed when Vance died, Archie would now throw a punch if he needed to

"Yeah, it's just I really needed something to get my mind off of..." Archie didn't want to finish his sentence but Star knew exactly what he was talking about and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder "I get it, we both have different ways of coping as you can see" Star joked with him lifting up her blunt

He laughed, it felt good to laugh with her again, it feels like they haven't talked for years and years "so why were you at Robin Arellanos house?" Archie teased her with a small smirk "he knows my brother and we were doing math homework" star told him taking a hit and Archie just hummed "yeah sure"

Star looked at him weird "yeah sure? What's that supposed to mean Arch?" Archie just shrugged "oh you know, just the fact that he's had a huge crush on you since the third grade"

"Oh shut up no,he doesn't" Star told him pushing Archie a bit "okay okay" Archie said putting his hands up and laughing

They sat there, in a comfortable silence, just enjoying each others company, it really had felt like it has been a million years since they talked

"Do you think about him?" Archie said breaking the silence, Star didn't need to ask who he was talking about

"Of course I do, I think about him all the time, he was out best friend, that's not exactly something you get over quickly" They didn't make eye contact with each other while talking about him

They both knew that if they did they would break out in a fit of tears. They also knew that Vance would come back from the dead just to beat those two if they ever started crying over him, so they tried not too

After about another hour of talking and smoking Archie started walking home with Star but didn't come very close to the house in case of her father being awake in a drunken state "we need to this more often" he said to her and as she walked the rest of the way to her house "yes we do" Star said turning back to face him smiling at him softly

She then waved at him and then went her separate way

She walked into her house to see her brother asleep by the tv and her dad asleep in another room on the couch which was a relief so she simply just went to bed thinking about Vance and Archie and all the dumb shit they used to do together

Honestly it's kind of weird that all three of them would become so close considering how different all of them are, but nonetheless it was always a great time with them

Star just missed it, once Vance died nothing was the same but Star was determined to have a better relationship with Archie again

With that thought she drifted off to sleep not knowing what was awaiting for her in the morning
