The volleyball players weren't present at the moment in the gymnasium.
Coach Nekomata was standing with Naoi sensei studying some reports regarding the boys I think.
Tsubasa and I slowly made steps toward the coaches who were having a serious discussion about something.

"Good afternoon sensei, I'm Y/n L/n", I bowed after completing my sentence

"Oh yes L/n, I was waiting for you. And you might be?", Nekomata sensei questioned raising his brows at Tsubasa

"Good afternoon sensei, I'm Tsubasa Aoki. Here to apply as the assistant manager", Tsubasa said with a gleaming smile.

" Ah I see, then L/n I suppose you've made your decision to join the team?", Coach Nekomata questioned with a closed eye smile

"About that sensei, I don't think it's possible. I already have too much on my plate. Managing studies and extra curriculum is too hectic. And I've also participated in the Science project so I spend most of my time there", I said and made it sound as convincing as possible

The last part was a lie but then I'm not interested to work as a maid for a bunch of boys, refilling water bottles and cleaning the court is not for me

But judging from Coach's expression I don't think he was convinced

" Sensei, if you like I can bring the right candidate for this job. You might not already know, that Kyoko Sato is more suitable for this job. She'll be more helpful than I'll ever be", I continued with my excuses again

But if I were, to be honest, I'm not wrong. A good manager is someone who can lift a team spirit and enlighten their mood whenever they feel low. For someone like me who can hardly express her feelings, I don't think I can fulfill my role.

Coach Nekomata seemed unfazed. There wasn't a slight change in expression on his face as if completely expecting what I was going to say.

"About Kyoko Sato, The Captain already suggested her name but she denied it. Which we think is valid as she's already working in many clubs", Naoi sensei was the one to speak this time

"And you might already know she's in the science project team as well. But as for you Y/n, you haven't joined any club and you also declined to join the student council, so I don't think you've too much on your plate", He added with a small smile forming on his face

"But we cannot force you to join the team as our manager", Coach Nekomata was the one to speak this time

"So I have an offer for you." He completed his sentence after a little pause

"I'll give you both straight A's for the rest of the time you both remain as our manager, without having to participate in P.E class or submitting any sort of projects or assignments. Sounds fair?", Coach Nekomata looked at me with a gentle smile on his face

"You both also get to stay and go on trips whenever we've camps and stuff. Besides we have a training camp just after 2 days, so we need a manager urgently. Skipping school does sound good, doesn't it?", Coach Naoi tried emphasizing the offer further, which was definitely working. I could see Tsubasa's eyes glitter without even looking at her.

"I'm sorry sir bu-" Before I could say anything further, Tsubasa muffled my mouth with her palm in an attempt to silence me.

"I would like to have a word with her. Give us a moment", Tsubasa smiled at the teacher's dragging me outside the gym

"You'll have 5 minutes to decide", I heard a voice, not sure which coach it was, probably Naoi sensei.

" Were you gonna reject such an appetising offer?", Tsubasa huffed folding her hands to her chest
