Luna Afia

Waking up in my bed for the first time since being out of the hospital felt like an absolute dream. I've been back at the boys' for about two days now and I'm settling in pretty well. Still a bit wobbly going down the stairs but Harry and Zayn have been a massive help.

Harry said he's staying here with me for a few days to make sure I'm okay, which I've told him is not necessary whatsoever, but he insists. It's weird seeing him like this... all caring and helpful. I'm used to the cold shoulder, hard shell Harry, but ever since I was in hospital, I've been seeing a different side to him. It's nice.

This morning felt different though... I didn't feel as happy as I have these past few days. But I still manage to drag myself out of bed and throw on an oversized hoodie and my slippers and make my way downstairs.

As I slowly and carefully make my way down the stairs I can hear voices coming from the kitchen.

Specifically, Freya and Paisley's voices.

I haven't seen the girls since I was in hospital.

I reach the bottom of the stairs and walk into the kitchen.

As I walk into the kitchen a small, high pitched squeal comes from Paisley as she walks over to me with a big grin on her face and gives me a gentle hug.

"hi babe, how are you? You feeling okay? Not in pain or anything? How did you sleep?" Paisley blurts out.

"god paise, let the poor girl wake up before you start bombarding her with a million questions" Niall laughs.

"hey, I'm good, I'm feeling fine, no pain, and I slept like a baby. Thank you for coming to my ted talk" I reply with a smirk.

I look around and notice Harry isn't in the room. He must be sleeping. Which is odd considering he's always up at the crack of dawn.

"good! Good." Paisley responds positively, "then we should get planning"

I turn to her and frown slightly, "planning? For what? Did I miss something?"

"for your birthday, silly! We have to celebrate. there's not been a year we've been friends that we haven't celebrated you and your birthday. It's tradition" she says whilst strutting over to the fridge.

Celebrating? I just got out of a coma? What the fuck are we celebrating?

"so... I was thinking... we throw something here, get everyone's friends and just get absolutely smashed, play a few party games, we can get cake, decorate, and just have the best time. How's that sound?" she says, sipping her water.

I say nothing, and hope someone else can save me from this horror of a conversation.

"that doesn't sound too bad" Freya responds.

Great.

"so like, Luna did JUST get out of hospital, so why don't we give her the option" Niall adds.

Thank fuck someone said it, so I didn't have to.

I stay silent and grab the bottle of orange juice out of the fridge and pour myself a glass.

"so? Luna? What are you thinking?" Freya asks.

"I don't know what I'm thinking" I respond bluntly before taking a sip.

"oh, come on babe. It'll be so much fun. We always have the best parties!" Paisley begs.

"I mean... I don't know about you guys, but I don't recall our last party being that much fun if I'm being completely honest" I mumble.

The room falls silent for a split second.

"well, we didn't throw that party, did we?" Paisley responds.

"nope, I guess not"

"babe I promise it'll be good, come on"

Before I get the chance to respond, Harry comes into the kitchen. He still has bed hair and is rubbing his eyes as if he just woke up.

"good morning sleeping beauty" Niall smirks.

"fuck off" Harry replies with his croaky morning voice.

"ahh. I've always loved how much of a morning person you are" Niall giggles.

Harry doesn't reply and instead walks over to the pantry to grab some cereal.

"okay, as we were saying, we have to celebrate" Paisley resumes.

"I don't understand what we're celebrating" I reply bluntly.

"what do you mean you don't understand what we're celebrating? You, obviously" she replies, confused.

"what is there to celebrate, Paisley?" I snap, "both of my parents are dead, I haven't seen my sister in god knows how long, I JUST woke up from a coma and I live with the people who kil-" I stop myself before I continue what I was about to say.

I sigh before continuing, "I live with the people who kindly took me in, but I don't understand what there is to celebrate paise. 19 isn't even an important age"

"every age is important" I hear a croaky voice say from the other side of the kitchen, "some people don't make it to a new year. Or they spend most of their life stuck in a hospital bed. You've gotta celebrate everything you can before it's too late"

I think that was the most inspirational thing I've ever heard Harry mumble. I mean I could tell that he wasn't the most comfortable when we were in the hospital, but I didn't think that much into it.

"babe, if you REALLY don't want to have a party, we won't. I just think it'll bring the energy up around here considering everything that's happened recently"

I sigh and don't reply for a few seconds.

"fuck it. I'll get the all clear to drink from my doctor and we can have something, why not" I give in.

"that's more like it" Paisley smirks before pulling me into a hug and kissing the top of my forehead.

Well, hey there strangers. It's been a while.

I don't really have an excuse for not writing, I just have not been in the right headspace recently, but tonight I got the sudden urge to whip out this little chapter, so I hope you love it.

I'll try not to dip for 3 months again.

Love you munchkins xxx
