Tai Lung is a former villain from the Kung Fu Panda universe. He is the father of Tyson, Tahali, and Tikiti and member of the master's council.

He returns to the mortal realm after being freed of Kai's jade amulet belt. He is found by the Soothsayer and nursed back to health. Later, he agrees to help the Furious Five and Po to defeat Jindao. He finds out the bird had brainwashed him into becoming evil earlier in his life. After getting revenge, Tai Lung joins the animal heroes and marries a cheetah and childhood friend named Sudu, and has three children with her.

Tai Lung appears several times during Kids of Kung Fu and Hero Valley. He is first seen playing with his cubs in the Valley grounds. After hearing the story of Fotia, he shows concern over how violent the story is and states he should have a talk with Queen Granda about it. He is later again seen attending his son's Lite naming ceremony. He is shown to help the valley by going on patrols with the Five. Later at Granda's last speech ceremony, the queen looks to Tai Lung and Shen and thanks them for their services and is seen with a shocked expression when she dies. He also attends Hyma, Todo, and Redwood's funerals. He is later seen at the final battle standing besides his friends. When Smock reveals he killed Hyma, Todo, and Redwood, Tai Lung growls and sets into a fighting stance and charges at him. He is later seen standing with his family and cheering for Jeru and Leah's coronation.

Tai Lung appears bold in his opinions but is less violent than what he was before. He seems to enjoy being around his new friends and family. He loves playing with his cubs, mainly Tyson. Despite all of his evil deeds, it seems his former enemies have forgiven him. He is also shown to be calmer as seen when he catches Fasa chewing his tail, he smiles at the cub and gently sets him down.

Trivia:

Tai Lung is the first former animal villain to be introduced to Hero Valley.

In Kids of Kung Fu, Tai Lung's son, Tyson is chosen to be the next Dragon Warrior (possibly due to him and his father being prodigies in Kung Fu).
