We were laughing. I was with a really pretty person, except I couldn't tell who it was. But I felt that they were real, if that makes any sense. The laughter soon died, and we just stared into each other's eyes. They leaned in and then-

"Y/N! Time to wake up for school." Dad was sitting on the edge of my bed, gently shaking me awake. "Mom is downstairs making you some breakfast. Hurry and get ready." He got up and left my room, closing the door.

I groan and hid my face in my pillow. What was that dream? Who was that? I sighed and got out of my bed, throwing some clothes on. I put on a colorful t-shirt and some jeans. I put on my green converse and tied the laces, grabbed my backpack and slung it over my shoulder. I opened my door and ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Good morning honey! Ready for your first day?" Mom asked with a smile as she cooked up some eggs, bacon and waffles.

"I think so." I gave her a nervous smile. "Just a bit nervous." I began making my lunch, which was a turkey sandwich, some chips, and some fruit. After I was done, mom served me my breakfast.

"Thank you mom, this looks really good." I looked at her and genuinely smiled.

"Of course, honey. Now eat up, you have to leave in 10 minutes."

(Time skip, 10 minutes later)

I stood up from the table and put my plate in the sink. I grabbed my stuff and walked to the front door. "Bye Mom, bye dad! Love you guys!" I walked out the door, down the path to my garage. I grabbed my bike and hopped on, and rode to school.

(Time skip, 9 mins later)

I made it to Hawkins High and saw that it was busy with students arriving. I found a bike rack in front of the school so I put my bike there and used my bike lock.

Walking towards the entrance of the school, I saw a boy park his car. He turned off the engine and got out, and a girl out out of the passengers seat. They exchanged conversation before the girl punched him in the shoulder. They looked pretty friendly and maybe they could help me find my classes.

I walked over to them and waved. They turned to me.

"Hey, what's up?" The boy greeted.

"Hey, um, I'm Y/N and I'm new here and I don't know where my classes are, so maybe you could help me?" I looked at him and then to the girl. She was staring at me and I got nervous that she didn't like me already.

"Oh sure thing. I'm Steve and this is Robin." Steve said. "Lets-"

"Can I see your schedule?" Robin interrupted him.

"Oh yea sure." I took out the paper my classes were on and gave it to her. As she read it, Steve was looking over her shoulder at it.

"It looks like we all have math together... and you also have history with Robin! We can help you find your way to the rest." Steve smiled.

"Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!" I smiled back at him and then at Robin.

The bell rung. "Lets hurry and go to history before we're late! Last one is a rotten egg!" Robin turned and took off.

"Hey I don't even know where it is!!" I shouted at her before running after her.

We had made it to class before the late bell rang. Robin took her seat and I sat in the one next to her. I looked at her unsure. "It's okay for me to sit here, right?"

Robin looked at me. "Oh yea, don't worry. No one sits next to me." She looked down at her desk and frowned a bit. That made me feel bad for her. I don't know why but seeing her frown just made me sad.

I was still thinking about Robin when the teacher stood up. "Welcome class! Before class starts, we have a new student. Her name is Y/N! Be sure to welcome her." He pointed to me and everyone in the class turned and looked at me. Some waved, some didn't. Robin looked at me and smiled. That smiled reminded me of something but I really couldn't tell what.

"Ahem, Robin, why don't you catch her up a little. You two can go sit in the empty seats in the back of the class."

Robin smiled. "Sure thing, Mr. Change." She stood up from her seat and grabbed her notebook and I followed her. We sat down and we began whispering to each other about random things for most of the class. It was near the end when Robin finally began to catch me up. Watching her smile and laugh made me feel something. But I didn't know what it was, how to deal with it. I kept catching myself staring at her. I swear she reminded me of someone but I can't pinpoint who. She's just so familiar.. and she's so pretty..

"Y/N? You good?"

Shit. I had zoned out while staring at Robin. I swallowed. "Oh me? Yea I'm, I'm good." I smiled big and cringyly. Robin laughed and looked at me.

"You look like a dingus."
