It was a day similar to the day Elena died. A young lad wearing a black cloak and a hunter's hat with a feather sticking out, walked through the busy town. People gathered there once every two months to socialize and dance. However, the lad didn't seem to be in that spirit. His eyes burned with hatred and rage as he confirmed his surroundings.
There was almost nothing other than the general store that was open every two months for a week while the festival lasted and a bar. He went over to the bar and ordered a draft beer from the bartender. The bartender nodded and have the cloaked man a mug filled to the brim with beer. Instead of chugging it down, he sipped a bit and glanced around. Out if curiosity the bartender asked, "what's your name youn' lad? Ne'er seen ya 'round here."
The mysterious lad paused for a bit before placing his mug down.
"Rouge."
" 'scuse me? Didn't quite catch that."
"It's Rouge."
"Rouge? Laddy! That's a funny nickname! What's yer real name?"
Rouge places a gold coin on the counter and left leaving behind, "You don't want to associate yourself with me too much if you value your life."
The bartender just watched as Rouge headed into the crowd. He continued to move through the crowd glancing towards to setting sun. The hairs on his neck stood up as he got closer to the center of the crowd. The sun had set completely by the time he had reached the center of the crowd.
A man let out a gargled sound before collapsing on the floor about a foot away from Rouge. The man lay still for a couple of seconds before his body swelled up. His skin turned grey and he lost his human resemblance. He had turned into a hideous grey giant. People had started screaming and running, tripping over each other creating chaos. A young girl was pushed aside and fell on the ground. The giant noticed her and threw a punch towards her! She closed her eyes and expected to feel impact, but when she didn't, she let her eyes part to see the giant's arm falling from the sky. The giant hissed in pain and roared with rage. His eyes scanned the area and caught sight of Rouge standing there with his black bladed sword drawn.
The giant charges right at Rouge, his eyes filled with rage. Rouge simply swung his sword and all movement caused by the giant stopped for a few seconds before the giant's chopped up body fell to the floor. Rouge placed the tip of his sword on one of the giant's carcass pieces. His sword glowed an ominous purple as the giant's remains became particles and was absorbed into it.
Rouge had begun to leave the town when the girl ran up to him.
"Thank you mister! Here, you can have this!"
She handed him a pendant of an emerald imbedded into a miniature golden sword.
"It made Ria's brother's dream come true before the plague took him ten years ago. I hope it helps mister make his dream come true!"
Upon saying that, the girl ran off towards a man and a woman. Rouge turned around and continued to leave, heading for the next town.
