"Let's not do this," I breathed out, sweat dotting my forehead as I raise my hands.
He chuckled, gun wrapped tightly within his fingers. "Oh, we're doing this, Hanna."
"Oh, for God's sake. Keep it together, Carson. I didn't technically lie."
His green eyes blazed, looking at me as if I said the most ridiculous thing in the world. "You did lie! You lied about your job! You lied about your name! What else could you have lied about?"
"I clearly remember not doing any of that. You should doubt your memory more than my words. You were bleeding on the ground!" He rolled his eyes, waving the gun around when he mocked my words with gibberish.
"Do you know how long we looked for you?" He argued back. "We had to go around the entire town and ask everyone like you're fucking Cinderella. That took a big hit with both my ego and my pride, okay?"
"Oh, you poor baby. How could you ever recover now?"
The argument went on inside the interrogation room, like two close friends on a bad day, completely forgetting about the dead body by the door and one of the most notorious mafia leaders watching us with pure amusement in his murderous eyes.
