~~Still Riker’s POV~~
I texted Rydel, telling her to wake up early tomorrow morning to help me with breakfast, and that I needed to talk to her about something important. She replied back, ‘Yeah, I need to talk to you too.’ We set up a meeting time, and I quickly put away my phone before the other guys noticed. We played for a few more hours, before it was finally time to go to bed for the night. We all left, except Ross, who stayed back, cleaning up and setting up the pull-out bed, for Courtney. I walked down the hall as he stopped at Rydel’s room.
~~Rydel’s POV~~~
Courtney had fallen asleep on the floor, in the middle of our movie marathon, I didn’t mind. She had a long day. I giggled and took a picture, before going back to the movie, stuffing a handful of popcorn into my mouth. I checked my phone: 1:00 AM, and texted ***** back (A/N, I’m not telling you yet, but this is who she’s been meeting late at night.) And the boys were STILL playing.. geez…
The noise from next door suddenly stopped, and they all called goodnight and went down the hall. There was a quiet knock at my door, so I opened it, putting my finger over my lips to signal to Ross to be quiet. He nodded, coming in and looking a Courtney, with that goofy grin of his.
“I was just gonna say she could go to bed now.” He whispered.
“Well, you can’t just leave her there, that floor is really uncomfortable.” I whispered back. He sighed, and walked over to her. He carefully picked her up, bridal style, and carried her out of the room. It was adorable…
~~~Ross’ POV~~~~~~
After taking her out of Rydel’s room, we went to her “room” I tucked her into her bed, and kissed her forehead, before walking down the hall to my own room, and falling fast asleep, my mind racing at the thought of possible having a crush on my best friend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Riker’s POV~~~~~~~~~~
The next morning I woke up early to meet Rydel in the kitchen. I started on breakfast when she slowly came down the stairs, yawning, in her pjs.
“I can’t believe I’m out of bed right now for you…” She said. “This better be good.” She sat down at the table, and I nodded, setting down a glass of oj in front of her.
“Its about Ross. And Courtney.” I stated.
“Ohh. Yeah….” Rydel said.
“He confessed to us that he likes her, do you know if she likes him?” I asked her, sitting down across from her. She nodded.
“Of course, she told me last night, but claims that he’d never feel the same.” She said, rolling her eyes and taking a sip.
“He said the same thing. I think we need to do something here. They need a little push.” I said, taking a sip of my own OJ.
“I was thinking the same thing, but what could we do, without them figuring out what we’re doing?” Rydel asked. I sighed, that was the problem…
“Well, how about a few steps? Step one, we try to get them together as much as possible, alone. Then, hopefully, one of them would admit it.” I said with a shrug.
“I think it just might work…” Rydel said, with a grin. We worked on our plan for a little while longer, as I finished breakfast, and mom and dad came down just as Rydel finished making the coffee.
“Good morning.” Mom said as she came over and kissed my cheek. “We all need to talk today at breakfast. Christmas is coming, and we need to work on a plan for that.” She said, taking her seat at the table and drinking coffee. I nodded, signaling to Rydel to go awaken the troops. Ratliff had stayed over again since his parents were away for work, but coming back today.
~~~~~~~~~~~Meanwhile with Courtney~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up when the light began coming through the window. Yawning and stretching, I tried to remember how I got here, last I remember, I was in Rydel’s room and the boys were in here playing video games. I checked my phone, 7 am, everyone’s gonna be downstairs eating in a little while, but I really didn’t want to get up. Just as I was about to try to go back to sleep, I saw the door open slightly and Ross’ head poked in.
“oh. You’re awake.” He said quietly, opening the door and coming in and sitting down next to me. I sat up.
“So, care to explain how I got here?” I asked with a smile. He scratched the back of his neck nervously, letting out a chuckle.
“Well, you were asleep on Rydel’s floor when we finished, so I figured I’d just bring you here, ya know, if you don’t mind.” He stuttered. I laughed, bumping his shoulder with my own.
“It’s fine. Thanks.” I told him with a smile. “Well, its probably time for breakfast, you ready?” I asked, standing up and giving him a hand up. As we were walking out, Rydel knocked.
“Oh sorry, didn’t know you were in here Ross. Time to eat.” She said with a smile as she turned around and walked out, closing the door behind her.
“Told you so.” I said with a smirk as he opened the door for me, poking me in the back as response. I stuck my tongue out at him as we walked down the stairs to see everyone else already eating.
“Ohh good. You guys decided to join us.” Rocky said with a smirk as we took our seats at the table.
“Rocky just eat your bacon.” Rydel said, elbowing him.
“Now, we need to discuss what we will be doing for the holidays.” Stormie started…
