I'm all over the place on Saturday early afternoon.

I haven't even properly showered, I woke up at six and have been up since then—cooling. Mostly cooking because we're holding a pool party for the neighbourhood, weird I know but apparently it's a thing even though the houses aren't for a good kilometre away from each other.

It happens every year, this neighbourhood pool party and each house on the block gets to host one each year. Unfortunately for us this was our year and that meant we were hosting.

Duh Coco

This event is said to have over fifteen families since this is a secluded and limited neighbourhood.

Fifteen families

Which also meant kids of all ages. I had to make sure the food was edible for all and steer clear of allergies though luckily for me it was only one—nut allergy, and everything else was okay.

We had sent invitations out weeks ago and because Noah and I were such a new couple everyone wanted to see how compatible we are and how good we worked with each other and because I'm not a particularly masochistic person—though that can be debated—I invited my friends, Lilly who is bringing her boss and Camille, Lewis and Angela along with Noah's parents which was nerve–racking because as much as liked them there were still his parents and really wanted them to like me too.

Noah says there isn't a reason that they shouldn't and that no one could not like me—which made my heart soar and beat irrationally. Noah is the type of person who is unintentionally sweet to me at times, he says things he doesn't even realise make me happy and love him more.

The hot August air beats down on the back of my sweaty T-shirt, Noah wasn't particularly happy when I decided to cater for the event but I did it anyway.

He says I'm stubborn like that and I guess I am.

I watch the decorators—yes decorators for a tiny event—finish the finishing touches to the enormous back yard with he massive pool. They brought out all the food, drinks and snacks I prepared today.

A strong arm wraps around my waist and a woodsy, dressed smell engulfs me. I tense and pull back from Noah and watch him, shielding my eyes from the blinding sun.

"You can't hug me—I'm sweaty and stinky and gross" he raises and eyebrow saying 'oh really?'

"I can hug you if I want—sweaty, stinky and gross. You're never gross to me anyway" See? He says things like this with a straight face as if he doesn't how much it affects me.

"I love y—" I freeze and his posture goes rod straight. Oh my gosh I nearly told him I loved him—I'm not ready for that yet. Yes I know I can't help my feelings but that doesn't mean I have to admit them yet, no matter how much I trust him, I'm still reeling from the after many that Jake left in his quake. I clear my throat and start again.
