What A Life

Chapter Ten -

I looked down at the orange packet in my hand, this was it.



I opened up almost about to read it. But something stopped me. I wanted Kelsey to see this too. If it was mine and I'm 70% sure it's not, I wouldn't be able to tell her.



I picked up the keys to my truck and walked to her place.

"Kelsey! Open up! Dammit." I had been standing outside for 30 minutes banging. Her car was here so I was positive she was inside.



I just sensed something, the door was a hard material so using my shoulder or foot wouldn't work. I pulled out my heat from the back of my pants, backed up, took off safety and pulled the trigger. Aiming directly at the door knob.



The door bust open as dust from the material formed.



I pushed the door and looked around.



Not in the kitchen..

Not in the living room..

Not in the bathroom...

Not in the bedroom..



I went into the room where Kelsey normally be at, her office. It's where she did her business and made her deals. Where nobody disturbed her.



I looked down frozen for 3 seconds before running to her limp body. Their was a pool of blood around her.



I leaned down and put my fingers to her neck, checking for her pulse.



And what scared me was...

Their wasn't one.



[i was gonna stop right here but naw!]



I hurriedly put my mouth on hers giving her mouth to mouth as I put my hands on top of each other on her chest, pushing down rapidly.



"Kel! No! Don't leave me, baby!"



Minutes later the door was busted open to reveal a couple of police and medics bringing in a gurney.



They picked her up and put her on the ambulance. I jumped in the back and held her cold hand as they put a oxygen mask over her face.



People were yelling but everything was blocked out. It was just our world. Me and her.



Once we made it to the hospital I was dragged into the waiting room. I held my head in my hands and for the first time in years...I cried.



As I saw nurses rushing into her room, I knew she was hurt...bad.
