'Yawn' "Ugh..mornings" God I hate mornings, and it's a Monday...I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Zion Lawson. I'm 15 and uh..my favorite color is red? I'm not very good at the introductions. What time is it anyway? Looking at the clock I can see it's 7:45. Oh okay that's not too ba-7:45?!  Oh damn! I'm gonna be late for school! I rush out the door after doing my morning routine of brushing my teeth and praying for an easy day. And saying goodbye to my mom. She's a single mother who try's her hardest..I couldn't have asked for anything better! In the distance I watch the school bus drive off. Damn jt! Well. What do I do now.. I could walk I guess. My thoughts are interrupted by I horn honking. "AGH!" I jump in fright and look the left. My best friend is in the backseat of the car laughing his ass off and his dad is having a chuckle in the front. Walking to the car I tell him off. "Dude what the hell was that for? I almost had a heart attack" I said while fixing my glasses. "Your lucky we even stopped, get in already bro!" He said. That's Neahmiah or Neo for short, my best friend. I've known him for years. He's always had my back through school when it comes to bullies. They leave him alone since he's the rich kid of the school. The bonus of being friends with him is I get to ride to school in a limo everyday! Well only when I'm late...which is about everyday. Y'know his dad is unusually quiet. Mr Robinson is always in the front cracking dad jokes, but not today? I don't know maybe he's not feeling well. I see our school in the distance. Hard to believe such a rich kid went to a public school like this one. "Thanks again for the ride Mr. Robinson" I thank Neo's dad. "Zion how many times do I have to tell you to call me Norman? That Mr nonsense makes me feel old." "Yeah okay sorry Norman." I apologized. "It's quite alright. Now you two run along or you'll be later than you already are!" "Alright alright we're going damn, keep your panties on.." Neahmiah  snarked at his dad. Wow did those two fight or something? Kingston never speaks to his father that way. We make our way to the courtyard and see our good friend Tina Burns. She's definitely the moral support of the group. Keeping me from killing Neo whenever he does something stupid. "Yo T!" "Whats up Z? How's it hangin Neo?" She said in her usual chipper tone. "Nun much just preparing for another day of hell" I cracked which made her giggle and my heart flutter. You see this girl standing in front of me is the first crush I've ever had, so I do don't want to blow it. "Are you guys excited for the field trip?" "Me and Neo look at her with confusion. "There was a field trip?" We ask in unison. She face palms and says "We've been talking about this for weeks how could you forget?!" I rubbed the back of my head and laughed. "Whatever let's just go to class. They probably left with out us because of you two." She says while walking in and Neo following her after we do our special handshake. I take a deep breath and walk into the place where dreams come true..and where they die...
