Y/N'S POV

I ran out of my shop. Today it was more crowded than usual. I had to get many things for tonight so I ran to the grocery store and bought everything quickly . "Here." The cashier handed me the grocery and some other stuff which I bought as they made the bill. "2000 yen." They handed me the bill. "Here." I paid and ran out of the store as I was getting late. I quickly ran all the way home and called Tsumu. "Yo bro be quick and help me out. Drag Samu, Rin and Aran along. See ya. Bye." Not giving him any chance to utter a word, I cut the call. It was Shinsuke's  birthday the next day. It was just going to be a simple night stay with movies and games. Nothing too enthusiastic or fancy. I opened the door and put the groceries and stuff on the dining table. "Y/n

sweetie do you need my help??" Shin's granny asked me, entering the kitchen and seeing the mess on the table. "Of course!! You can help me with the baking and cooking." I hugged her. "Also, I'm home." I scratched the back of my neck awkwardly as I forgot to say it the moment I came home. "Welcome back. Remember to say it when you get home next time, okay??" She patted my head. "Now let me help you." She said as we cleaned the mess created by me on the table. It was 7 pm and Shinsuke was still at the farm. He usually comes home by now but he was going to be late today.

Soon enough; Tsumu, Samu, Rin and Aran showed up with the things they were supposed to bring. "Are ya done with the cooking and baking??" Samu asked as he tried to sneak a cookie. I smacked his hand away and said, "Almost. Get away." "Geez whatever." He went away, rubbing his hand and left to help out the others in the decorations as I and granny completed the cake and food. Even though the decorations were simple, Miya twins' chaos was making it hard and it was taking them ages. Soon, it was all done. We had arranged a rooftop party, with basic and cozy decorations. Nothing too much to do, catch up with buddies, play games and have a great time. "OIII Y/N WE'RE DONE!!!" Tsumu yelled at the top of his voice as he completed the last task of the day which was given to him. "Come and check it out. Let us know if there are any changes needed." Rin said as he peeked in through the kitchen door. "Okay." I said as I washed my hands and ran to the rooftop. "Perfect." is all I could mutter. It looked extremely dazzling. "Good job guys." I said patting each of their backs. "We always do good work." Tsumu beamed. It was time for Shin's arrival. It was nearly 9 30. To keep the surprise going, I forced the guys to hide in the backyard as hiding them inside the house will just lead to chaos and ruining of the surprise.

"WHY ARE WE HIDING IN THE BACKYARD????" Tsumu whispered as it was quite dark. I turned on the light and pushed him inside the store room. "Because if I hide you all in a room, you and Sami will cause a ruckus and ruin the surprise. Do whatever you want here, punch him or slap him. Voices won't be audible upstairs anyways. So good luck. Bye." I said as I slammed the door shut and ran upstairs. "Leaving. Take care. I love you:)" I got Shin's text as I sat beside Grandma. "Okay. Waiting. Take care and love u too :3 " I texted him back. "Shin has left for home." I said as I sat beside granny on the couch cozily. She just nodded and smiled. After 10-15 minutes, the door clicked open. "I'm home." Shin said as he removed his shoes. "Welcome back." We said simultaneously. "How was your day??" granny asked him as he hugged her. "Pretty normal." He smiled. "How was yours??" He asked us as he hugged me and placed a kiss on my forehead. "Good too." We both said in unison. "Good to know." He said as we got in and settled on the dining table. "I'll go get fresh." Shinsuke said as he left. We served him dinner as he came back after some time. "Shinsuke, take your day off tomorrow." Granny asked him to take a holiday. "I was actually planning too. We can go out." He smiled. "I'm on leave as well." I muttered. "All sorted then." He said and squeezed my hand.

We finished dinner and sat on the couch, watching tv together, just cuddling and holding each other close. It was 11: 30 pm. My enthusiasm was rising every passing minute. Shinsuke yawned as he laid his head on my shoulder. "Sleepy??" I asked him and he hummed in response. "Let's go to sleep." I picked him up and went to our bedroom. He did fall asleep but I was waiting. It was 11: 50 pm now. I got up and went to the rooftop. Tsumu and the others were already there with the party poppers. "Ya ready??" Samu asked me as I hid with them. "Yeah now let me yell his name without any context." I giggled. I took a deep breath and screeched "SHINSUKE SAVE ME!!!! SHINSUKE!!!!!"

SHINSUKE'S POV

I was fast asleep when I heard someone calling out my name. It was….Y/n's voice. I quickly got up just to find her absent. She wasn't beside me or in the washroom. I searched over the house but she wasn't there. "SHINSUKE!!!!" She screamed again. It seemed that the voice was coming from the rooftop. I took the torch and ran to the rooftop. I opened the door and……"SURPRISE!!!!!" Party poppers popped. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHINSUKE!!!!" Wait- She's not alone- The lights switched on and…….."Atsumu, Osamu, Suna and Aran???" My eyes widened. "How are you guys here???" I was really shocked.

"First things first. Happy Birthday!!!" Tsumu yelled enthusiastically. "It's already 5 July??" I looked at the time on my mobile. It was 12: 03 am. "Y/n….. where's  she???" I asked them as she wasn't there. I felt someone wrap their hands around my eyes from the back. "Shh now walk with me.'' She started taking steps forward and stopped at a distance. "Surprise!!" She whispered in my ear as she switched on the fairy lights, revealing the decorations underneath them. "Gorgeous……." I mumbled. "Can we eat the cake already??" Samu said as Granny lit the candle on the table under the fairy lights. "Sit here birthday boy!!" Y/n said as she made me sit in front of the "Happy Birthday" strip. All of them took their seats. I blew out the candles and cut the cake. "Happy Birthday To You, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Shinsuke, Happy Birthday to you." They caroled, gleefully. I fed the cake to everyone as they hugged and wished me a Happy Birthday. "Ya know how we celebrated your birthday in the gym once?? And ya got mad at us because we made a mess??" Tsumu laughed as we settled down. "Of course I do." I snickered. "Well, when did you guys even get here??" I questioned them curiously. "Been here since 6 pm. First decorations, and then in the store room." Suna smiled faintly. "Oh my god….did you guys get any food to eat??" I asked worriedly.

"You really think I'll lock them up there dying in hunger and thirst??" Y/n playfully hit my shoulder, pouting. "Of course not sweetie." I chuckled. "You should really get married soon." Granny said as she got up. "I should go to sleep. I can't stay awake like you young people. Have fun." She smiled and left. "Good night Grandma." All of us said in unison. "How did you guys manage to get here at the perfect time?? I mean you 3 are professional volleyball players. It isn't easy to get holidays right??" I asked Tsumu, Suna and Aran. "Anything for Kita San." Tsumu grinned. "We planned it last week actually. So it was easy to get a day off. Also, we're going on a picnic tomorrow. Hiking." Suna said, turning his glance at Y/n. "Come on, it'll be fun!!" Y/n said, almost bursting out of excitement. "Sure sure." I agreed, smiling. In the blink of an eye, we were engrossed in talks. How were the old days? How I used to control the Miyas, etc. This was really amazing. I caught Y/n staring at my face, lovingly. "Thank you. You're the best." I kissed her forehead as Tsumu and Samu were busy bickering and Aran and Suna were busy listening to their bickering. "I'm crazy in love with you." She said as she chuckled and took a sip from the wine. I was so lucky to have her as my girlfriend and s/o. I smiled to myself looking at her. I am crazy about you, love. I thought to myself and chuckled.

The night went very well. Talks, laughs, games and fun. That was the best night of my life. Now I look up to tomorrow's picnic. This was a really good way to take a break from our daily lives, it felt very harmonic and peaceful. Thank you, Y/n.
