A/N: This chapter is longer than normal. Normally I go a little over 1000 words per chapter but I decided to combine two chapters together to make this more interesting, otherwise this chapter would've been shorter. If you want to know where it got extended, the adjoining chapter starts at the time skip to the hotel.
Louis' POV
The door swung open and Alli and I both stepped inside. The house wasn't very bright. In fact, it looked quite dull and depressing. Alli took my hand and led me up the stairs and into her small bedroom. It had a single bed, a very basic and cluttered desk, and a cupboard where she kept all her clothes. She took a suitcase out from under the bed. To be honest with you, it was quite a large suitcase.
Before she put in any of her clothes she added some books, a stuffed teddy, and all her essentials and sentimental items. She turned to me.
"No, I do not sleep with a stuffed bear. My uncle gave it to me before he died. We were really close." She watched as I nodded empathetically. I knew how it felt to lose loved ones. I'm sure she already knew that, though.
She then opened the door to the cupboard and added her only other pair of shoes into the suitcase, along with majority of her clothing items. She left behind one pair of shorts, and a t-shirt. She claimed both items of clothing didn't fit her. When she finished, she zipped up the suitcase and placed it on the floor on it's wheels.
"You ready to go?" I asked her. She was shaking a little bit, but nodded none the less. I pulled her in a hug and she hugged back, wrapping her arms around my waist. "Let's go, yeah?" We pulled away and she nodded again, a single tear rolling down her face. My heart broke as I wiped the tear away, but she smiled softly.
"Thank you, Lou, thank you for being my hero. Thank you for helping me escape. These tears are happy tears," she whispered. "I want to write a quick note to my parents before we leave, though." I nodded in understanding. I took her hand again and she took her suitcase, dragging it back down the stairs.
She took a pen and piece of paper from her purse and began to write. She was writing for a good two minutes before we left the house.
Alli's POV
"Dear mum and dad, thanks for giving me a shelter for the past 21 years, along with some food. But I found somewhere else to stay, with someone else who will take proper care of me. Don't bother looking for me, because I won't be anywhere near here. I'm letting you win, after all the pain and tears you've given me. So goodbye, have a nice life without me. And I won't be coming back, I don't want to and I probably never will. To be honest, you guys belong in the psychiatric ward of a hospital. Allyssa."
Done. I folded the note a little and put it on the end of the kitchen bench where I was sure they'll see it. I looked at Louis who was already looking at me. He shot me a sympathetic smile.
We walked back out to the car and I put my suitcase in the back before getting in the passenger seat with Louis in the drivers.
Louis' POV
The moment we left the house I could tell something was up with Alli. She was quiet and seemed to be off in a daydream. I took one of my hands off the steering wheel when it was safe to do so, and put it on her knee. She looked down at it, as if she had never seen it before. I started to rub my thumb in a soothing manner in circles over her knee and she placed one of her hands over mine.
"What're you thinking about, darlin'?"
"'Stralia."
"Hey, hey, we can always come back here to visit every few months, or you could go alo- no, young and pretty girls like you are not flying overseas alone, I take that last little bit back." I looked at her in the rear-view mirror. Alli was blushing, and chuckling softly. 'Aw, did I make you blush?" I teased.
